Brighter Dental Of Old Town's Online Review Report Card

I’ve been going to Brighter Dental of Old Town for probably over 2 years now and I’ve always received excellent care. I’ve been to dentists in the past who always seemed to want to sell me something which made me, distrust at times, some of their clinical recommendations. I’ve never felt that way at Brighter Dental. The team is quick, efficient and kind, and most importantly, I really trust all of the practitioners who work here, from the dental hygienists to the dentists. I’ve seriously tried to convince friends to stop going to their current dentists and go here instead. If you’re looking for a great, trustworthy place, you won’t be disappointed with Brighter Dental of Old Town.

I went to Brighter Dental of Old Town for a temporary crown after my previous crown cracked and fell out. Before the appointment, Seida repeatedly assured me the office would submit a pre-estimate to insurance and only charge me my patient responsibility amount. After multiple calls with my insurance company, it was discovered Brighter Dental had been faxing the paperwork to the wrong number. The issue was finally corrected during a conference call with insurance and the office. Despite the pre-estimate being approved before my appointment, I was told by Seida and Luca that I had to pay the full amount upfront or they would not proceed. Seida claimed no memory of the aforementioned conference call, and I had no choice but to pay or remain untreated and in pain. At my follow-up appointment, insurance had already paid the claim electronically, but the office delayed reimbursing the overpayment and gave conflicting timelines for a refund. They also refused to refund the original credit card and insisted on mailing a check instead. After repeated vague promises and no reimbursement, I was forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Due to their refusal to honor the insurance allowed amounts, I overpaid by several hundred dollars. I later received a threatening letter accusing me of fraud because of the charge dispute, even though the office had still not refunded the overpayment at the time of the dispute. This was a disturbing experience.

The hygienist has a light touch and a gentle manner. The dentist was thorough but also fast and efficient. She is one of those people whom you trust almost immediately.

I have only had great experiences with Brighter Dental of Old Town! Their staff and dentists are always so friendly and helpful and really go above and beyond in making sure you are taken care of and have everything you need. I'd recommend them to anyone new to old town area or Chicago in general and looking for a new dentist!

I was happy to find this dental office near my home and I was hoping that it will become my permanent dentist. Unfortunately my last visit was very disappointing. First Dr. Karnaukh didn't measure my gums to monitor my gum recession and from my previous visit she should've made a note that my gums need to be measured on every visit because I have a significant damage to the structure of my teeth and gum recession as a result of a botched orthodontic treatment done a few years ago. She referred me to a physical therapy for my TMJ and difficulty swallowing but when I called the clinic they told me that based on my symptoms none of their doctors feel comfortable taking my case. Then the cleaning done by the hygienist was a complete joke because she didn't use the machine but she was scrubbing manually and that took forever to have my teeth cleaned. Lastly, they billed only the exam under Dr. Karnaukh's name and the cleaning was billed to my insurance under the name of Dr. Nouneh. I have never seen dr. Nouneh in my life so I don't know what kind of insurance frauds they do there and why they billed my cleaning under a doctor who has never seen me. I called my insurance company and they told me that I have to make them correct this and bill the cleaning under the name of the doctor who did the exam but the manager of Brighter Dental refused and she only offered to remove the balance I owed due to dr. Nouneh not being in network with my insurance. I don't recommend this dental office and unfortunately I have to be on the look for a new dentist again due to the unethical and fraudulent business practices done in this office.

Excellent cleaning. Thorough examination. Very efficient practice. Always on time!
