My son is there as we speak,he's has a intellectual problem, the this is the worst experience with I've had in all my sons hospital stays ,they said my paperwork is not valid because a judge didn't sign it but the state of Illinois granted me legal representation,I've been hung up on , every time I ask them to ask if my son can sign a release of information so I can get the code, they hang up on me my son doesn't have the ability to remember my phone number, karma is something else I hope the staff knows that,God has final say I have the paperwork stating I'm his representative over his health related issues,so I will be getting in touch with my community leaders and the state and Springfield I just spoke with Department Humani services and my paperwork is legal I will be filing a complaint, with the state of Illinois,
READ this Review in FULL. Respectfully, thank you. Violations of patients civil rights; disregard ADA reasonable accommodation requests. If your loved one is here, the nursing staff WILL put their physical health at risk, waiving away all physical symptoms and depicting them entirely as mental illness. The only good staff there are Andrea, and the Patient Advocate, Albert. Some of the doctors and social workers are good, but find a different facility entirely. Especially if you have any Autism Spectrum Disorders, they are NOT educated in patients care with autism conditions. They will violate your civil rights if you are not informed about your needs and legally protected rights. The rest of the staff are nearly mediocre to outright DANGEROUS to patient's health. Especially Alex who communicated to staff that a Reasonable Accommodation request and High Blood Pressure should be deemed Violence and Non compliance. Before the automatic response from CBH is posted with platitudes of how this isn't commiserate with their standard of care and tells me to contact wecare@chicagobh.com as a sacrine acknowledgement for my concerns, know too that I intend to file grievances with the State and the Joint Commission for the sheer level of disregard for patients rights and the lack of corrective actions demonstrated by the repeated complaints listed on this Google review site. CBH is very obviously NOT taking these and others concerns seriously. UPDATE: I have submitted a complaint to wecare@chicagobh.com. If you are at all committed to making changes you will institute the suggestions I placed in that email which include providing ALL further patients with a copy of the ADA and Rehabilitation Act and posting this on ALL inpatient FLOORS so everyone is well aware of their legally protected rights. And your staff doesn't disregard Verbal reasonable accommodation requests in violation of the ADA. Especially considering that you refuse patients pens and pencils. Probably so they cannot express themselves in a professional manner that is acknowledged by your facility and you can dismiss their Verbal self advocacy efforts. Also, they DISCHARGE you with OTHER patients records in violation of HIPAA.. yeah, you just earned my state department complaint. Update 2: The nurses will chart other patients medical information, names, and patient histories in your medical chart leading to improper diagnostic accuracy and administration of dangerous medical treatments. I have opened an investigation into this hospital for medical negligence. Nurse Vanessa and Dr. Bergren will put your wellbeing at risk instead of verifying that they have correct information for the patient. Know Your Rights! Know the law. Dangerous facility and dangerous medical practice. Patients beware. Know your rights. 45 CFR §164.526; 45 CFR § 164.526(d)(2); Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act (MHDDCA) 740 ILCS 110/1; 740 ILCS 110/4; 740 ILCS 110/4B. Section 4(b) explicitly states that when requested in writing by an indigent recipient, the provider must furnish one copy of the records at no charge. This includes delivery to the recipient directly or to an authorized advocacy organization.
This hospital provides compassionate, professional care with a staff that truly listens and supports every step of the healing journey. The environment is safe, calm, and focused on helping patients regain hope and strength.
The pt care is truly first and foremost, in this well-staffed, well-equipped hospital.
Zero stars is the appropriate rating. There is gross incompetence, lack of concern for patients and overcrowding. My wife's condition became much worse after being admitted - stopped eating and drinking and refused to take her meds. Even though she could walk to the bathroom, she was given a catheter. When transferred to a good hospital, it was hard to tell what was done because the notes from CBH were so minimal. My wife was so out of it that she was clearly drugged. The social worker wasn't reachable until I said I would complain to the state. The voice mailbox for the patient advocate was always full. My wife said that there were more beds than capacity allowed and that she wasn't given the CPAP machine that I provided. Visiting was only allowed one hour per week and only in the cafeteria to hide the deplorable conditions. Avoid this hospital at all cost. The state needs to close it.

The person answering the phones 7/22/2025 was extremely rude and hung up on me. She should not be dealing with the general public. They must not check voicemails because the mailboxes they sent me to are full.
Approximately 4 years ago I was sent here from North Chicago VA as (Sal D) I was specifically sent to a women's assault unit (Before my name change). This started off as the most peaceful experience with daily crafts karaoke singing, & self-care, volleyball and basketball daily. Sometime during my stay an Indian male (employee) tried to fabricate a narrative that I was trying to throw out another girl's clothes that she left in the bathroom. When in actuality I let him know that the person left the clothes in the bathroom, period. They then put me to a male felony unit, With a flooded bathroom, no rights to go to leave the unit. You had to be locked in your room All the time. Additionally males attacked frequently in the open. FreeMason or not this male "Indian employee" should be fired & ashamed of themselves specifically for abusing power as a healthcare worker. I am not letting this go. Once I get the records I will be filing a formal complaint against the male Indian employee. You should not be allowed to put another person in harm's way ever again.
I've had the worst experience ever at this place they Robbed me of my personal belongings It was a gold chain that I had. Entered the facility with . They make you take off all your belongings and bag them. The only thing they didn't bag was my gold chain. It all of a sudden disappeared. They run the cameras back and they see me taking off my gold chain And putting it on the table . And then the chain disappearing. They kept telling me to bring a receipt that they would refund me my money. I've brought them a receipt about 3 times and I am still being ignored. It is a value of $3000 chain. And I can't believe the lady did not get fired For stealing my gold chain on plain site on camera. These people are thieves. liars And they make Your mental illness even worse than it was before you entered there
i spent a week here for an alcohol detox and the staff at southwest 3 were great people. i am now on my 12th day sober off alcohol. thank you so much for your hard work!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
