Dr Goodman has helped me with so many issues! I’m getting older and have recurring back problems. It’s well managed. Recently had bursitis in my hip and elbow. After an injection I am pain free. Very happy!

I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to how life-changing seeing Dr. Goodman has been. Before I met him, I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t get out of bed, dress myself, shower, make a meal, or even use the restroom without help. Sometimes, without even moving at all, the electric, unrelenting nerve pain would start in the center of my knee and radiate outward — triggering physical yelps of pain and complete helplessness. That pain was accompanied by the worst mental state of depression I’ve ever experienced. This lasted for over a year — from 2023 into 2024. I saw four different Chicagoland specialists, all of whom misdiagnosed me. I went through countless tests: X-rays, MRIs, aPTT bloodwork, ultrasounds, physical therapy, and corticosteroid injections. Every time, they told me my knee “looked fine.” Despite that, I was prescribed rheumatoid arthritis medications — which, of course, did nothing, because I didn’t have arthritis. I had CRPS — Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. After one visit with Dr. Goodman, everything changed. He took one look at my leg — the swelling, the redness, the heat — asked a few questions about my quality of life, and immediately put me on a treatment plan that finally started to help. He administered a synthetic nerve block, which took about a week to fully kick in. He also adjusted my pain management medication. And I can honestly say that, for the first time in what felt like forever, my everyday life began to return to normal. Before this, I had come to terms with the idea that my existence would be filled with darkness and pain. I thought I would never function again — that my life of traveling, moving freely, and doing normal things was over. During the darkest points of this chronic illness, I wouldn’t have wished what I was going through on anyone. Now? I’m walking, I can go to the grocery store, or go out to dinner with friends pain-free — and I no longer live with the mental anxiety of wondering if a random, explosive nerve attack is going to strike at any moment. It feels like an absolute miracle. With all this being said, I can’t even begin to thank Dr. Goodman enough. It truly brings me to tears even thinking about how bad the bad days were, how scared I was, how lonely, and just how much pain I was in. If any of this sounds like you, if you’re going through this and having other doctors dismiss you, not believe you, I know it’s exhausting, advocating for yourself and making appointment after appointment, co-pay after co-pay, without any actual help or answers. Trust me, I hear you, please don’t give up on yourself, please make that appointment and go see Dr. Goodman immediately!
