My friend suffered catastrophic hardware failure because of this guy. He is entirely incompetent and has such a bloated ego that he cannot see the pain he is causing around him. I just hope that he never does anything like what he did ever again. DO NOT LET THIS TROLL OPERATE ON YOUR CHILDREN!

I waited a few years to write this, as I didn't want to do it while angry. Dr. Finlayson came highly recommended and couldn't have been nicer to my son or to me. However, he ordered a very invasive test (requiring general anesthesia and a full day at the hospital) that was supposed to indicate whether surgery was the solution for my son's hip pain. From what the dr. told us before the test, the result indicated surgery was not the solution. Dr. F then recommended surgery anyway - to which I asked, "why did we do the test, if you were going to recommend surgery either way?" He replied, "well, we're surgeons. We like to cut." To say this to the mother of a 14 year old athlete who just missed days of school (and games) for appointments & tests, and endured a day in the hospital plus general anesthesia, only to hear the same recommendation we'd have received with no test, is unacceptable. We left, never returned, and his pain went away with physical therapy.

After having a history of hip surgeries and unresolved pain, I went to Dr. Finlayson after doing my research and I am so glad that I did. I was 18 at the time, and underwent surgery with him at Lurie's. The recovery period did not go as plan (as nothing in life does) but he made sure that I was taken care of at all times. I am so lucky that I was able to have such a caring and knowledgable doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Finlayson to everyone I know.

Dr Finlayson was fantastic and did a wonderful job with our 15 yr old son, Danial, who had a completely torn ACL. Great bedside manners and he relates very well to a teenager. He explained the procedure very well and in fact was very accommodating regarding timing of surgery and ours son's school schedule. His staff and assistants especially Vishakha and Emily were very caring and made it a smooth process. All the staff that was involved in my son's care at Lurie Childrens Hospital provided excellent care during his surgery. I will highly recommend him and his staff.

My daughter had corrective knee surgery and Dr. Finlayson did a phenomenal job with the surgery and has awesome bedside manner. Very calming to my nervous daughter.

I absolutely love Dr. Finlayson. My 9 year old son injured his knee while downhill skiing and after my research I decided on Dr. Finlayson--and my research paid off! He is wonderful. Dr. Finlayson has an amazing bedside manner and my son adored him. Dr. Finlayson actually found a tumor we didn't know about during the exam. Great with my son and great at his skill as an orthopedic surgeon. I trust his opinion and would highly recommend him. We did have to wait to get in, but it was worth it.

Dr. Finlayson is an amazing doctor! I tore my ACL in 2013 and he was extremely helpful. He told me the best places to go to do therapy, and he didn't rush his time with me what so ever. Dr. Finlayson's staff was understanding of my parents schedules and they were helpful with scheduling and rescheduling appointments. I was very comfortable with him doing my ACL surgery. He was very confident, and the results were amazing. I was able to walk one and a half weeks after my surgery and after only 12 weeks I was back playing my main sport(golf). I would recommend Dr. Finlayson to everybody, he is a great guy and amazing doctor.
