Dr. Peter Lio's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Lio is a SAINT! Not only was he willing to take my case, despite being out of state, he truly has compassion with those suffering from difficult to treat conditions. He has an excellent bedside manner, a caring attitude, a true heart for helping patients, a very open mind to trying more natural resources and treatment plans, and a wealth of knowledge. He also has a very good instinct that is based on his extensive experience when trying to find the root cause of issues, while also prescribing an extremely effective treatment plan. He is one of the best doctors I have met in my whole life and it has truly been a blessing to have been treated by Dr. Lio. He has written many research papers and done interviews - that is actually how I found him. He was in the documentary "Preventable" and that just shows a snippet of how amazing he is. He is an advocate for Topical Steroid Withdrawal patients and is very engaged in the Eczema community. Dr. Lio is one of those doctors that truly cares for his patients and their well-being. He is as joyful as the patient when he sees them recover and heal!!

I will say if you have a skin condition that other doctors won’t know how to diagnose, you must see Dr Lio. Not only he is kind, empathetic but he really wants to help you! That’s rare !!! most doctors I have seen don’t really give a damn, they just give you some bs cream and some steroids and send you out the door. Doctor Lio researches reads medical journals and orders appropriate testing. I had a urticaria condition that 5 dermatologists didn’t even come close wanting to figure out the cause. Northwestern and Rush dermatologists were absolutely useless, just sucked my money. after 10 months of suffering found Dr. Lio, he ordered appropriate testing and within 3 appointments he found the actual cause of my problem. Treated it and had clear skin ever since. NWestern derms wanted to put me on immunosuppressants for life.

Dr Lio is probably the best doctor I saw and I saw many. Reason why: kind, empathetic, caring. Makes you feel like he genuinely wants to help. If he doesn’t know something he will go and dig through medical journals for you and won’t be scared to order appropriate tests. Other doctors you have to fight for testing. He solved one of my problems that 10 other doctors just thrown meds at me. Came back again with something else and he did everything possible to find the cause. I only wish he would be an internist also as this is the kind of doctor you want to have as a GP too

I’m very disappointed at this office. Even though we have a PPO insurance, this office required a referral from my family doctor. We got the referral, we sent it by fax and email, we called and the office said the doctor will review it. It’s been more than 2 weeks and no calls. I called yesterday and they said they didn’t received anything, they checked and it was there. Again they told me to wait for review. I think my time and money also has a value and more than that the bad eczema my son has. Too much trouble to make a simple appointment 😞

Dr. Lio is an extraordinary physician and a consummate professional. I have been to many physicians over the years and Dr. Lio is the best. He has a genuine friendliness and superb bedside manner. Really second to none. He listens to your concerns and addresses your questions. He is a very passionate doctor as well and is an expert in the treatment of more difficult skin conditions. Very much rises to the challenge. Cannot say enough good things! Exceptional all around.

Best dermatologist I've ever seen. He cares about his patients and thinks deeply about their condition to find the best treatment. My mom is also a patient, she has a severe skin condition and her and I feel that she's completely safe in his care (unlike other dermatologists)

Went to three different health systems and all recommended steroidal cream “x” amount of times a day and follow up in 3 months......Saw Dr Lio decided that instead of going the general route let’s strategize, identify and rectify. (My words not his😂) but nonetheless, we came out with understanding flares, being offensive being defensive. My son now beat eczema and we are back to regular creams There are still flare ups but it’s very rare.Thanks Dr. Lio!!

I went to about three other Dermatologists in Chicago seeking treatment for my eczema over a two year period & nothing seemed to work. I finally discovered Dr. Lio in 2018 and he changed my life. He introduced me to new skincare products I was previously unfamiliar with & prescribed a mixture of medicine, which was different from the prior Dermatologists. He was the only physician that truly helped. I would recommend Dr. Lio for anyone struggling with eczema.
