Excellent medical services in Naphrology department at Norwegian American hospital!

I have had amazing experiences with Dr. Diesfeld and the NP. However I recently - today had a horrid experience with the front desk. This is completely unethical and unprofessional. I called as their patient, in an urgent situation, my back is out, I cannot stand up. I was told I need an appt because I have not been in since March, so since Covid. I only need a small prescription for my muscle relaxer so I can function and asked to speak to the MD or NP. The front desk person was rude, and hung up on me when I began to cry and said I can't effing walk, I need to speak to an MD and see if I can get help right NOW, not in two week. This is my pain doctor after all. Instead she hung up on me and refused to pick up any further calls. I finally called from a different number and requested a call back from a nurse. NOT OK!!! An office clerk IS NOT the gate keeper for my health care. I feel absolutely abused by your staff right now. Such abuse of power and control! How dare your staff keep your patients from YOU????

Dr James Dieseld (pain management)On May 2, 2019 I Ruby Washington paid$200 which was the fee. He did no examination.I explained to him that Osteoporosis,Gout. ,Fibromalgi. Zcue Rheumatoid Arthrtitis which he laughed and said maybe you can get some marijuana, it is legal in illinois. If you cross the border, you will only get a misdemeanor. I replied , do not assume I smoke because I do not smoke. He laughed and said, I'm surprised. I said I am in excruciating pain, and I need helpHe laughed againand as I'm near tears and angry , he then said there is a medicine that slow down the osteoarthritis but you can't afford it. I said I afforded uWhen it comes to my health, the cost won't matter. He said come back when I had insurance.I told him the meds I had he told me what med he was going to put me on, wanted 5hrs., he never even sent it. The next day went back to his office and they called left messages, finally he called in something totally different I already had.Now I'm depressed, feel robbed, no examination.

Dr.Diesfield is amazing! He has great beside manners and remembers you and your case.Brandy Hanson is an absolutely incredible nurse practitioner. The best I've ever seen and with two neck surgeries- almost three and two years of pain management I have NEVER had someone who listens, actually cares and thinks outside the box. Just when I thought nothing worked and lost hope, she found something that did!!The three star is based on his whole practice. They say they return calls within 24 hours.. really?! Cuz I've called and left a message everyday for over 2 weeks!! He needs new staff that actually do the job they get paid for (secretaries & nurses NOT brandy the nurse practitioner!) or a better system!!

I went to the south side location and after one visit I didn't have to beg anyone for help. They listened to me and I came home with a bag full of goodies. I’m also waiting for a few more things to take place but that has nothing to do with their service. Thank you for making me smile again.

My experience was one to be marveled afterI had the pleasure of being seen by NP Brandy Hanson I’ve experienced knee pain for the past few months & nothing seemed to help nor did I know whyHer passion for her profession was displayed all throughout my visit, she was extremely knowledgeable about my medical issue & served me with high standards of dignity, empathy, & compassion,I’m glad I chose this facility for my medical needs extremely pleased

this place is alarmingly cold and detached from any semblance of whole patient care. from the moment i walked in the door i noticed a very adversarial relationship towards patients. it is sad because i was hoping for something near me that might provide the compassionate and competent care i require (and deserve).

After searching long and far for the proper pain management providers in my areas, I was referred to this clinic, and I must say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. The services provided by Brandy Hanson was not only thorough but also done with such kindness and empathy that it made me want to make her my primary care provider, I’ll tell any and everyone that I know not only about the conscience of the clinic but also about the unmatched service I received !!!!!!!!
