Janice Lasky Zeid's Online Review Report Card

I have seen Dr. Zeid since 2014 when I was diagnosed with NF2. She has always taken the time to answer my questions, and has always shown me respect. Medically I am extremely pleased with Dr. Zeid. I just had a strabismus surgery to fix my lazy eye and could not be happier. I highly recommend her!

I’m sure Dr. Zeid is a wonderful doctor for term babies or children, but I would not go to her if your child is a preemie or needs care for ROP. Her ROP exam, which is extremely uncomfortable for babies requiring a Speculum inserted into the eye, took an absurd amount of time with our child screaming and made both his eyes bleed. Mind you we spent 5 months in the NICU with the same exam done weekly and then bi weekly and it took a 10th of the time her exam did and we never had any blood in his eyes. She then explained the amount of time away saying that she never takes another persons diagnosis as her own. I get it, but it was obvious ROP exams are not in her comfort zone and I would have appreciated knowing that so i could have gone to a doctor more seasoned in Premature babies and my son would not have had to go through her giving the exams. Also, she does not treat, so she had to consult another doctor for their recommendation. A retina specialist that recommended surgery without even being the one who gave the exam. Three other doctors said it was not necessary for surgery given the extremely minor stage (stage 1 in level 3). I would have liked to have known that she did not treat and would have had someone that didn’t even see his condition make the treatment plan. It was all around a horrible experience and being transparent with your experience limitations would have been instrumental in our choice for care.

Need doctor to be more strong on recommendation for next steps. The onus of making a decision on diagnostic MRI check or dilation check is on me.

Dr. Zeid is fantastic! My son is seeing her, and I can not recommend her enough. She is handling some complicated issues he has very well. She is very professional, knowledgable, and she is able to interact very well both with my son and myself.

Dr. Zeid is a wonderful doctor! She's been treating my daughter for several years and just performed eye surgery to fix a lazy muscle. My daughter's eyes look great. Dr. Zeid is very easy to talk to and explains everything until you completely understand!
