This man forgot to give my mother anesthesia during her EGD! Absolutely unacceptable. His medical license should be revoked.
I was seen by this doctor in January while I was admitted at Swedish covenant hospital in January 2023 this doctor did an upper endoscopy on me and said my h.pylori I've had for 2 years mind you, without treatment was no longer positive and I was cured! I had a stool sample done 2 weeks ago (different hospital) and I am still positive with symptoms 10x worse. Please get a second opinion people. Especially if you've been seen by this doctor.
I made appointment to see him in Sept 2022. No staff member in his office was wearing a mask including the Dr himself despite masks were still required at Swedish Hospital facilities. He did put mask on until I made a comment about it. He took my history, asked me to sit on table. Lifted my blouse without informing me that he wanted to listen to my heart and examine my abdomen. He then told me next to lie down on my side. He pulled my shorts down then inserted his finger into my rectum without informing what he was planning to do. This office needs to go back into traininglon how to treat patient's with dignity, safety and infection control measures! I informed my Primary MD of my experience then went ahead cancelled my procedure and did not hesitate to find another GI MD
Currently waiting for a superior hospital/practitioner to replace a g-j tube Venetos inserted at bedside at a subpar hospital instead of responsibly having interventional radiology—the standard for accurate j-tube placement—do it. We warned him that based on the patient’s history, his shortcut method was probably going to result in the j-tube curling back into the stomach, and now it has. It’s only by luck that the patient didn’t aspirate, as his stomach is full of enteral feed that would likely not be there if Venetos had better listening skills and less arrogance.
Dr. John Venetos is a very busy person. If you go see him, you might get only 1 min of his time, that's what happened to me. I don't know about others. And in that 1 min he just asked me to get some tests done. After the tests were performed, his assistant told me to call the Dr. on some other day to talk to to doctor for follow up. However, when I called the doctor, first his receptionist picked the call and instead of the doctor who I wanted to talk to, its his receptionist which told me about my reports. I don't understand one thing if this doctor doesn't have time, then why we should go consult him??????
Dr. Venetos was too anxious to do surgery. There was no immediacy to operating on my gall bladder. He was insistent on keeping me in the hospital for an MRI (having already had the results of an abdominal CAT scan w/ contrast and ultrasounds of my liver, gall bladder and kidneys). He denied me my right to leave and seek another opinion.
Being a physican myself when my own mother was dying of cancer in the ICU, Dr. Venetos saw my mother and gave her the highest standard of care. She was intubated and sedated, he never got a chance to even know her as the most amazing person she was, so completely articulate and funny at age 90 despite her short and fatal illness. As a physican to another physican, or rather just as a humane individual to a grieving daughter, he gave me more comfort after her passing than I can ever say and this is after only speaking to me on the phone. The fact that it has taken me almost two years to write this after her death is testament to how painful it was to lose her. But the fact that I am still thinking of those wonderful words of insight he gave me the day she died is testament to how proud I am to say that she had this kind of doctor to treat her at the very end of her life. He is thorough and so compassionate. My biggest sorrow is that she was too sick to know he was there. But he treated her daughter with the same compassion he gave her. I can never thank him enough. I wish all doctors were like him.
Avoid this MD at all costs. SCAM artist office. The place is filthy dirty, tiny, and dishonest. After my insurance paid him in full, they insisted the bill was unpaid. I paid them online and have all receipts telling me they received the payment. Twice, one from me, once from insurance. When I contacted the office, I told them they were paid twice. They were going to look into it and get right back to me. Waited months, left messages, now close to two years and nothing! Not happy.
Very professional medical doctor , very friendly and helpful and very caring .
great doctor highly skilled

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
