Krishna Patel's Online Review Report Card

Update: I still really like Dr. Patel and wish I could remain under her care. However, I won’t be coming back to this office and cannot recommend it due to how it’s ran (but still recommend Dr. Patel if she practices somewhere else). I had to call and cancel the day of (my appointment was at 3.30 and I called at 9 am) because I woke up with a fever and didn’t feel well. I was told by the operator they will call the manager to see if the cancellation fee can be waived.( It’s important to note that a year ago they waived my fee once because my car wouldn’t start because of the snow and when asked if they can allow me to see her later, they offered to waive the fee and allow me to reschedule because they were too busy to push my appointment later. ) The operator called me back and said I will have to pay for the cancellation fee which is 50 dollars (more than I pay through my copay or insurance charges) if I want to cancel and proceeded to ask me if I want to cancel for sure. I will not be coming back to this office for two reasons: 1) there’s no leniency when situations come up that can’t be helped (especially for a patient that has seen Dr. Patel time after time) and 2) If you’re forcing sick people to come into the office and get other patients sick, I’d rather go somewhere else where I won’t be put at risk and put others at risk. It’s not the ER, it’s a dermatologist’s office. Original review: Dr. Patel always gives me clear directions and sees me in a timely manner. My appointments are very affordable and she even went back and forth with my insurance to get them to cover a prescription medication cream that would otherwise be too expensive to buy out of pocket. The clinical assistants are always nice and reassuring, as well as the people working in the front check-in area. I'd see no reason to visit a different dermatology office.

I would not recommend whatsoever, I would give zero stars if it were possible. I scheduled a new patient appointment for suspicious moles, a skin cancer prevention check. Dr. Patel did not take the time to listen to my concerns nor fully examine my moles. In a five minute appointment, the doctor looked at various spots on my face for moles, one including a pimple that she declared to be a "normal mole" which gave me little confidence in her abilities or consideration for my skin concerns. Afterwards I received a bill for $130 due to a miscoding of the appointment even though it was preventative care. Many calls back and forth from her billing office, her physician's assistant, and finally Dr. Patel herself. She was incredibly rude and defensive for my request to consider coding it correctly as a preventative care appointment. As a new patient, a little guidance and care would have been greatly appreciated. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a doctor or medical establishment. I did not get a proper appointment nor diagnosis. I will be going to another dermatologist to finally get my skin checked properly.
