List of Lawrence Krause's Reviews
If I could give him zero stars, I would! I saw Dr Krause twice. Both times it was because of a suspicious lump. The first appt was an "emergency" appt. I didn't have my film not being told to bring it. He said all he could do was exam me, but nothing else, raising his voice. I felt humiliated. After he left I started to cry, from the way he treated me. It was January and his hands were freezing. I don't even know why he bothered to examine me. I felt abused. The second time I went I had dropped of my films a week in advance. He said he never got the film and he couldn't help me. I told him I dropped them off. After 5 minutes looking for the film, it was found on his desk. He never apologized for his oversight. Then left abruptly, the only reason I went a second time is because my mother said he was the best breast specialist. I will not go back! I don't care how good he is supposed to be.
Peace of mind knowing that I'm in Dr. Krause's care
I was not a patient of Dr. Krause, but I attended a friend's consult after she had one consult that left her anxious and doubtful. Her consult with Dr. Krause was a comforting experience. His explanations were thorough and honest. His attitude was realistic yet optimistic. His demeanor was comforting and compassionate. He was very patient in answering a long list of questions. We left the consult feeling very informed with a clear plan of action. We felt very comfortable and had a sense of control after this consult. I am in the medical field, and I was very impressed with this doctor. I will send others his way. My friend has since completed the procedures successfully and she is on the road to recovery.
Dr. Krause is one of the best doctors I have ever had. He is very knowledgeable at his expertise. He is very nice and has a wonderful sense of humor. He does not tell you what you want to hear, he tells you the truth. He goes out of his way to find the right treatment for you. He spends a great deal of time with you for explanations, reasons why, and questions. He returns your phone calls and will not leave you hanging to wait for days for an answer to a test you may have had. I had a couple of pages of questions before having surgery and he took the time to answer every single questions. He didn't rush or give yes/no answers, he explained everything to my understanding. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a good doctor, Dr. Krause is the one to see. I didn't know doctors like him existed. Thanks to him and GOD I am so much better. He was very patient with me. He collaborated with other doctors when needed, and he didn't stop until I was feeling better. Thanks!
Breast cancer patient -- referred to Dr. Krause as highly recommended by my previous doctor when she moved. While he isn't the warm, huggy type my previous doctor was, he's kind, efficient, and respectful. I'm very satisfied and would recommend him. I know another cancer patient who goes to him and is also very satisfied.
Dr. Krause is the biggest ass in the medical profession I have ever encountered! He had no respect for me as his patient, never made eye contact when he was addressing me, which wasn't very often. He did his 90 seconds physical exam, never looked at me, not even once during the 3 minutes he was in the exam room. He has a curt, abrupt, almost rude manner. He should not be in this profession, certainly not in an area where compassion and empathy are expected. Find a doctor who is willing to listen to and answer your questions. One who demonstrates that he sees you as a human being and not as a piece of work.
I had surgery for breast cancer and Dr. Krause was efficient and a good surgeon, and, I believe very competent. That counts for a lot, but he did not want to try anything new and did not want patients investigating their own medical problems and situations. I found him very inflexible and unwilling to look at new treatments. Also, and this is a small thing, but it annoyed me and made me feel disrespected - he never knocked when he came into the room after patients were asked to undress. Eventually, I left his practice and am now with a doctor I like much better who isn't afraid of new treatments or knowledgeable patients even if they get their knowledge outside of his office.
While I was in the waiting room, another woman (in her 60s, possibly) asked me (in my late 30s) if I was a new patient. She then went on to tell me that Dr. Kraus had been treating her for some time and that he was very gentle, knowledgeable, and supportive. That put me at ease. When I met him, he was pleasant but not overly so--he didn't need to be. He was natural and not trying to win me over. Our appointment only lasted about 15-20 minutes, but he was thorough and explained my situation with out dumbing it down. I didn't feel he was condescending at all (and, no, my husband was not present). I did sense his "strong personality" which translates to honesty and support in my eyes. If I have any further issues, Dr. Kraus is definitely the person I would go to for treatment.
The writer below might have been kept waiting by someone like me. Several times when I was in the radiology department, Dr. Krause came by to look at my films, speak with the radiologist, discuss the results with me, conference with the radiologist again, etc. Very helpful in resolving my case, but probably wreaked havoc with his schedule. We had several meetings and many phone calls (including one early on a Saturday morning so I wouldn’t be in suspense all weekend about my biopsy results), and Dr. Krause had conferences with other doctors regarding my case. He came up with two treatment options: Plan A (his first choice) and Plan B. I chose Plan B, and he supported me even though it wasn’t his preferred choice. Dr. Krause has a strong personality, and he won’t let you feel sorry for yourself just because you have cancer. His advice kept coming back to me during my treatment, which was very motivating. Best of luck to anyone reading this.
I would have to agree with the condescending part of the earlier review. I waited 90 minutes for an exam that took literally 60 seconds. Dr. Krause barely acknowleged me, just felt my breasts and was pretty much gone. (boy, that sounds sorta bad when I reread what I just typed, but it's true) I went to see him for unexplained breast pain, and I got pregnant between the time that I made the appointment and the time I had the appointment. I had also suffered two early miscarriages in the past. I mentioned to him that I was about 6 week pregnant, so I really did not appreciate it when he said "well, your breast don't LOOK pregnant." What an insensitive ass.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
