wife had mammogram - after a week, still no results forwarded to her dr.
Seems like no one works here. Called 6 different times no one picked up after waiting 15+ minutes. Also called patient services and was ultimately transferred back to the listed number where once again, no one answered after waiting 15 minutes.
I'm not sure what the point of coming in and giving your name and DOB to someone at one desk is... only to be told to sit down and then a minute later be called by someone else who asks your name, DOB, and if your insurance is still accurate. Why not just have people wait in line to speak to the second person rather than this redundant process? And for the first desk you have to stop at, there's a sign saying to stay back for privacy sake... but then when I got to that desk I had to give my name and DOB whilst standing almost shoulder to shoulder with another patient, so no privacy there.
My current doctor recommended a QT scan which is the most state of the art. Instead I went back to Lynn Sage for what turned out to be imperfect images making me freak out and now I have to go back as usual for yet more imaging. They send different notes that each day different things. It's a big jumble making sense of any of it. Disappointed in NMH.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Maria Teresa A. Today, I visited Northwestern Breast Center for my annual checkup. Due to a miscommunication, I ended up waiting for almost an hour. When I arrived at the MRI center, Maria Teresa showed great empathy and went above and beyond to help me get my examination as soon as possible. Thanks to her efforts, I was able to get my MRI completed very smoothly. I truly appreciate how professionally she handled the situation. Thank you for your kindness and exceptional customer service.
Wonderful experience. Everyone was kind, respectful, and professional.
I went in for my first routine mammogram with Lynn Sage at their Lakeview location. The mammogram procedure ended up pushing my implant out of place, breaking the scar tissue that kept it in place. This caused severe pain to my left breast and I had to get surgery to remove the implant as soon as possible to stop the pain. Unfortunately, I had to wait almost 3 weeks to find a surgeon who could fit me into their schedule to do the removal. It was a prolonged painful and stressful experience that I didn’t even know was a risk for a routine mammogram. If I had known, I would have asked for an MRI or ultrasound instead. In addition to the pain and stress, Lynn Sage’s Patient Relation team let me know they wouldn’t do anything to compensate me for the surgery I needed to have done to remove the implant that their mammogram painfully impacted. My experience with Lynn Sage felt very careless, painful, stressful, and disappointing, resulting in a hurtful complication that required surgery.
Giving 5 Stars to Cecilia, who is a wonderful person and a rock star scheduler! I have experienced multiple challenges this month trying to get an ultrasound scheduled, despite having a doctor's order. The issue is on the backend of the scheduling system and trying to identify the root cause has been quite time consuming. Thanks to Cecilia for her patience and making an extra effort to connect with a member of the tech team. I greatly appreciate her efforts!
Getting a mammogram at Prentice feels like being part of a cattle call. Too many clients and not enough personal interaction and service. So much is automated and when the system freezes then it’s a mess. In efforts to increase profit they've cut back staff and common courtesies like waste baskets where they clearly are needed. I’m changing to Rush or to a suburban office, hoping for a better experience. I've been coming here for a long, long time. Now the experience feels way too impersonal, cold, and corporate. .
I went in for a mammogram last year and there was a recommendation for a biopsy. My appointment for said biopsy was on a Monday, I received a call from the billing dept the Friday before stating that I needed to pay before I came in. You trust, so you pay and then you go in. Results were positive...phew....no cancer. I go in this year for my annual routine mammo, big charade took place to give me the recommendation for another biopsy including the dark and dreary room they lead you into to give you the news. When I asked to see the images, the young doctor seemed to be offended by my request. After going to consult with the radiologist or whoever she needed to consult with, she came back and then led me back to the radiologist, where we sat, I cried, and came out feeling like something was not right. I scheduled a second biopsy. I was called again by the billing dept. They would charge my insurance $10K (yes ten-thousand), for the biopsy procedure (which is what they billed the insurance the prior year). The week before the procedure, I cancelled. I recently got a bill from Northwestern and they billed $400+ to my insurance due to the "consultation" with the radiologist, for asking to see my images (?), all but a 10 min conversation. I ask, is this a joke? Isn't that part of the mammogram? Shouldn'tthis be routine practice (speaking to the patient about results)? I mean, that's what they did 10 years ago and I don't recall being billed separately. So I get the radiologist fee on top on top of the routine mammogram fee, which was $700+ and had already been billed a month or two prior. I had been a patient at NWMH for over 25 years and over the past few years have considered leaving, which I have finally done. The only thing that had me holding on that long was my relationship with my primary care physician, whom has since left and gave little details as to why. I do know these last few years, she looked very tired. Well, good riddance, and good luck to you if you decide to go with this practice or any other practice with ties to NWMH. Whatever top priority they may have, it is not the well being of the patient. And I have to say, the problem is not limited to Lynn Sage, nor is the issue the professional staff that work there that I am sure are very qualified, it's the entire system.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
