Dr Steven Cohen was Exceptional to me (6-30-25) yesterday during my back procedure. He understands the pain I endure and the great deal of anxiety I have before the procedure. He's Very Compassionate towards me. He cares Very Much about my well-being. He goes above and beyond to make my procedure comfortable for my individual needs. I have so much gratitude towards Dr Steven Cohen! He's Professional with a Very Kind Heart who Truly Understands his Patients Concerns. I feel Very Comfortable in his Care. Doctors break their own policies to refuse seeing a patient in pain; the office manager doesn't help. To be specific, I was 9 minutes late to an appointment for a steroid injection. Despite their office policy being "patients who are 15+ minutes late may be rescheduled,", and despite the fact that I was actively in pain, Dr. Jason Ross would not see me for my appointment. They rescheduled me for weeks later with Dr. Steven Cohen. Once again, I was a little late for the appointment, but within the 15-minute window. Dr. Cohen then refused to see me for the scheduled appointment. The office manager did not offer an explanation for why the doctors broke their 15-minute policy and did not see me. I understand that I was a little late each time, but transportation in Chicago is wild; and, I was there within the time frame their policy says I need to be, to be seen and treated. What kind of healthcare provider does that to someone?
Dr. Ross is excellent. Very respectful and knowledgeable and he cares for my well-being. The medical student and fellow at my last appointment were also fun to talk with as well and very helpful. Best pain management experience I have had and I will recommend NW to everyone.
This is specific to Dr.Chung in Pain Managment. First of all, it is beyond crazy that any pain doctor makes you feel rushed while walking to get your injections. His bedside manner is non existent. He talks AT you not TO you. I’m not sure if he knows what empathy is after my last and final appointment. I had an appointment for another injection for pain. While waiting I knew something seemed off because I would normally be in a gown after waiting so long. He then came in to tell me he can no longer do anymore injections for my pain. He also informed me that he does not believe in anything else but injections for pain. This is some thing he could’ve called me for before I spent the time and money to show up. He did not give me any recommendations of what I should do to move forward. I left holding back tears. I cried in the bathroom and my car. He wasn’t nice or hopeful or fake understanding about any of it. I truly hope there are not students there learning from him thinking this is how it works. He left me with a small window of hope after me doing everything and anything to help manage my chronic pain. Do not ever go to him to help you for anything pain related. You will eventually leave in tears while in more pain.
Extremely poor service. Really disappointed in how I was treated on the phone. Also disappointed in this office's protocols. I'm in pain, and you're telling me I have to wait nearly two months to be seen?! And that's after someone reviews my chart to make sure I "qualify" as a patient. Why don't you call my doctor who referred me to you??

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
