Northwestern Memorial Hospital Garage's Online Review Report Card

For anyone who goes to Northwestern Hospital and use the parking garage with a debit or credit card, BE WARNED, they double and triple charge and charged for days not there.Check your statements carefully, especially if you go there often.Has anyone else had these issues there?

Large garage with quick access to Northwestern hospital buildings. Many of the spaces are too small, making for a double parking problem. There are ALWAYS spaces that are not usable because of this problem. Minimum fee for a short visit is $12 with validation at the hospital. Other than that, it's a pretty standard parking garage.They have free car jump starts if your car won't start which helped me once. Pro tip, after parking your car, use the Emergency Exit stairs to get to the second floor bridge pathway to get to the hospital buildings. Faster than waiting for an elevator.

It's hard to figure which parking garages match up with which "pavilion" in the complex. Some addresses are for the pavilion name while others are for a street address that isn't the matching parking garage. Access to garages are often blocked or limited. It is especially hard to find where a discharged patient is waiting to be picked up. Parking is expensive, even with the validation. You must pay the parking before returning to your car and the machines are often blocked by people who can't figure them out.

On Monday 2/10/2020 came into your hospital on advice from Chicago Police to get her and her 14yrold daughter in a shelter as they were leaving a domestic violence situation. Her daughter had just been released from Hargrove because she tried to kill herself after her uncle put a gun in her face during an argument he was having with this 14yr old girl. My friend had left an very abusive relationship. She was asking for hgv help per State of Illinois. You must go to a police dept or hospital to get placed in a women & children shelter. She did that. Sat there for 22 hours. Got no help. They gave her & her daughter a Turkey sandwich. Walked all around them and did not help. I even called the hospital and spoke to Taylor in the executive office who told me that she would talk to her team and come up with a way to help her. She was supposed call my friend with a solution. She didn't. Your voice mail says you are the best 7 yrs running. You didn't act like the best Monday and yesterday, Tuesday. You showed your worst.

This was by far the worst experience. I come in for a head injury and I’m told it will be 4 hours. ITS A HEAD INJURY. I work in healthcare. That’s not appropriate. The triage nurse next to the check-in asks me why my main complaint is. She doesn’t say she’s done with me then asks the next person. Not only is this a HIPAA issue, but it’s just rude. How about you tell that person to have a seat etc. the staff are wearing masks and they’re not even wearing them correctly. This whole department need to straighten up.

I am now in the ER for the 4th time due to respiratory distress. I have been in the ER waiting room for 4.5 hours and my 600mg of ibuprofen and my duo-neb have both worn off. I am being told that it was going to be a long wait. I explained that I am in respiratory distress in which the response I received was basically a blank stare. I was told a nurse may possibly come out and give me a breathing treatment..... that was 15 minutes ago. I’m sitting here still breathing heavy with NO treatment being offered. I’ve already told the nurse that I’m leaving soon and she advised it wasn’t a good idea.
