List of Pain & Spine Institute's Reviews
During a difficult time for me and my family I was extremely pleased with how well and professional the entire staff treated me. They are the best in what they do for sure and I would also highly recommend the pain and spine institute to anyone who has suffered any injury!?
I have been seeing Dr. Sharma for 10 years now and he always has my best health interests at heart. He is always responsive to my needs in order to get me pain free. The staff at the Pain & Spine Institute are phenomenal!! Caring, friendly, and supportive!
Whoever Gabby is, she is a problem at this office. I called to try and schedule an appointment and she was extremely rude, stand-offish, and committed to not listening to me when I tried to explain who my insurance was through and why I was seeking treatment. After reading some of these reviews, I'm glad I didn't end up going to this location. My interest was to become a patient of Dr. Roland, but it's unfortunate that Gabby made this impossible. I often wonder how many Doctors are aware of how their administrative staff causes them to miss out on acquiring patients which down the line effects their bottom line. If you choose this medical facility, just note some of their intake staff lack a certain level of professionalism.
Let me preface this by telling everyone I WAS until very recently a patient at first the Bolingbrook, then Hinsdale locations of (Gateway) Spine and Pain and Dr. John Hong for more than 12 years after my pelvis had been crushed over 35 years ago. (Prior to this with pain management doctors where I had previously lived before coming to the Chicago area) Dr Hong was an excellent physician for me over the years. He was compassionate, thorough and worked together with me to try to relieve as much as was possible of my pain. Through MRI’s, tests, pain meds, nerve blocks, a Neurostimulator Implant, and so on. Sadly, However, Dr. Hong is no longer at Gateway Spine and Pain. Sadly there is no Gateway Spine and Pain. And this practice is no longer here for their patients needs. They are there for covering their selves. It's just Pain and Spine Institute. With some very important changes in how they care for their PATIENTS AND about PAIN MANAGEMENT... I am very concerned about the direction the practice has taken since Dr. Hong left. It seems they are more interested in doing mostly UNNECESSARY and COSTLY procedures, including more MRI's, surgeries and who knows what else. What Nurse Practitioner Jennifer Hinchley told me was the main focus of the practice now; "Interventional Pain Management" , including lowering doses of my meds because, and I quote "Dr. Hong has you on a higher doseage than current policies allow" AS Well As COMPLETELY REVERSING the practices compassionate policies regarding the use of THC products (Now Completely Legal in Illinois by the way) and actually have helped with the nerve pain as well as getting a better nights sleep than taking care of a long standing patient who was primarily stable. I believe this practice has forgotten their "mission" is supposed to be to help us manage OUR VERY REAL PAIN with what works not what some administrator decided is appropriate and takes options away instead of providing them... NOT ONCE have I seen an actual DOCTOR since Dr. Hong left the practice to discuss my case, . I have no idea who this new Doctor is. (Dr. Jaison J. Thekkekara, MD) Never met him, never talked to him, ever. Now, suddenly, Nurse Practitioner Jennifer Hinchley is all let's get it authorized to replace the old Neurostimulator which I explained would need to be done later due to some personal issues. Nonetheless, I started getting calls from the office and mail from some other almost immediately to schedule the surgery. In summary Dr Hong leaves, Nurse Practitioner Jennifer Hinchley starts tinkering with my meds because they don't like the dose, wants to schedule surgery, reverses THC policy and not once did I talk to the doctor. I know this review has been long (thanks for reading) I had to say something because I cannot in good conscience say I still recommend this practice. I believe that all this practice will do is give lip service to Pain Management and don't really care about their patients in the long term. Hiding behind a Nurse Practitioner, One Size for ALL medicine, and not allowing compassionate policies regarding THC is not serving my best interest and may not serve yours... Just got a text message and email from the office. “It’s been a while since your last visit. How has your pain been lately? Please reply or call our office if you need additional treatment. 1⭐ and they've lost a patient. Leaving me no option but to rely on my primary care doctor and my local dispensary.
Dr.Glaser is a great doctor he goes above and beyond to help in any way possible to get the pain under control. The staff there are always friendly and happy to be there! Would really highly recommend
I love the experience I had there . Everyone there Were wonderful they treated me with kindness and the doctors and the nurses are so very nice. And yes. I would recommend them to my families and friends.
Dr. Sharma was great. He listened well and made me feel comfortable with the procedure. The cortisone injection into my spine relieved my nerve pain completely. I highly recommend Dr. Sharma.
I moved to Illinois a couple years ago unfortunately Dr Glaser wasn’t the first pain doctor I visited. I didn’t have much luck with the last guy but a friend recommended Dr Glaser and I made the switch. Having to go to a pain specialist isn’t the greatest experience anyway but Dr Glaser has helped me a great deal. He’s no nonsense but he knows what he’s doing and how to help you decrease your pain.
Exelente atención
I always have an easy time getting an appointment, and Dr. Sharma is great

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
