Dr Mills is not only an exceptional provider, but also a compassionate and supportive listener. From the moment I walked into his office I left at ease, comfortable, and knew I was going to get the help I needed. He was essential to helping me navigate my way through a dark period and back into the light. I am forever grateful for his support, and assistance.
Dr Mills is An exceptional provider. From the moment I sat in his office, I felt comfortable, supported, and at ease to discuss topics that I was not ready to face. Through his caring approach I have been able to successfully climb out of a very dark place and rejoin the light. Dr. Mills is an absolute GEM!! You will not be disappointed.
Dr. Mills was the first psychiatrist I saw who actually listened to me and did not try and negate my feelings towards certain medications/side effects. And was always willing to work with me when something wasn’t feeling right. He was also easily reachable.
This Dr is proficient in finding the perfect medication/combination of treatments. Even more skilled in adjusting medication when needed. His expertise has saved me years of trial and error. I could have my PCP prescribe the same medication but I continue to see Dr Mills because anyone can write a prescription but very few are adept at manipulation of medications when circumstances change.
Stop looking, he’s the one! Helpful, knowledgeable and attentive!
Dr. Mills is absolutely outstanding and a world class psychiatrist! He is the “go to doctor” other psychiatrists visit when they are in need of one. Having been a patient of Dr. Mills for almost 15 years, I can tell you unequivocally there is no one better in the Chicago area. He is extremely smart, empathetic, listens intently and always prepared knowing with precision the details of previous conversations you had with him. He truly does care about you and shares in the ups and downs of your life. He follows up on patient requests virtually immediately (and normally no later than same day), and his professional and clinical abilities are top notch. You will not be disappointed. Dr. Mills is the best and I cannot say enough good things about him.

I couldn't have asked for a better psychiatrist. I saw Dr. Mills because I was concerned I might have ADHD. I was in my 30's, a woman, and had never been diagnosed before. Dr. Mills was friendly, thorough, attentive, listened to me, BELIEVED ME, and supported me from day 1. Mutual trust would be the best way to describe my work with Dr. Mills. He was highly knowledgeable about ADHD and the medication he started me on. I was so relieved when he said, "of course you can have a graduate degree and still have undiagnosed ADHD" - a common ADHD misconception I'd run into, even with various health professionals. He was very communicative and told me what he was thinking and why for my diagnosis and treatment. He never made a decision without checking with me about how I felt about it and if I had any questions. He never rushed me or pushed any medication on me, ever. He also began every single appointment being completely aware of our previous appointments, what had been going on with me, the treatment plan, and more. It was clear he cared about not just my treatment, but my whole wellbeing as a person. I worked with him for several years and only stopped because I moved to another state.

Dr. Mills is an exceptionally smart doctor who knows what he's doing. I went into his business feeling helpless and he gave me all the answers I needed to live the life I was longing for. Thank you Dr. Mills for all of your help!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
