Physicians Immediate Care's Online Review Report Card

I can’t believe I forgot to leave this review from November! Hopefully no one else ended up in the same situation. I came to this urgent care 15 minutes before they closed because my throat was closing and it was becoming impossible to swallow it even my own saliva. The girl at the front desk said “we aren’t taking any more patients.” I could barely speak at this point, and desperately asked if there was some here I else i could or should go. She shrugged her shoulders and said “no.” Ended up in the emergency room. For obvious reasons, I won’t be going back, and don’t recommend anyone else go either. Your life is based on the front desk leaving on time.

Have had 2 experiences for different hand injuries/infection, and both times were great. Quick and easy care with competent and friendly staff.

First visit was great. Follow up experience was a joke.

Today I received a text that I had "scheduled" a payment for $421 that was going to post to my debit card in 6 days. When I called their office they claimed my insurance is refusing to cover the urine culture and claimed that when I signed the paperwork at the time of the visit I "authorized" them to charge my card for whatever they want. I don't recall signing any such paperwork beyond authorizing the initial copay. I was able to cancel this charge but it feels sneaky that this was not disclosed to me at the time of my visit- I would have waited and seen my GP who doesn't gouge me for lab work and doesn't have sneaky billing practices. I regret going here and I don't want others to make the same mistake. Furthermore I called my insurance today and was informed that they ran a bunch of unnecessary tests which ran up my bill. I knew exactly only needed a standard urine culture. Why as $800 worth of tests run without my consent for a standard UTI visit? I've been in this situation countless times before and was never taken advantage of financially this way by an Urgent Care before.

This place is a joke. My wife and I are both ill with the same virus - we came in separately as we have shared child care. Both of us received very different advice and healthcare. One left with meds and for me they suggested I go to the ER. Mickey Mouse club immediate care, waste of time.

I went to this location one evening in a total panic. I'm somewhat new to Chicago and to help keep the roof over my head and I donated plasma a few times and one day I went in and they deferred me saying that I was HIV positive. I didn't believe them I didn't think it was possible, it shouldn't be possible. So when I got home I searched the closest urgent care because I needed a second opinion and when I went to physicians immediate Care, I was not okay. I was a wreck and my mind was just spinning in circles going crazy. Celina and her team, they not only helped me to find the answer but they saved me from my self. It was actual healthcare, the word care being the most important thing that I needed in that moment. In an emergency or even if I get the flu I will always go back there. I would refer any one of my friends or family and loved ones there. That night when I went home I wasn't HIV negative but I was okay. Thanks to them I was able to decide to seek treatment and continue living my life. Thank you Celina, and everyone at Physicians Immediate Care on North Broadway. Y'all were there when nobody else was.

When care is denied, how do you proceed? The PA reasoning for not removing a splinter was "we don't have the tools and it's a liability". But still charged for nothing. Oh, I'm sorry it was for a referral to Foot Specialist that we never got cuz the PA was busy eating. Thank you for the care.
