List of Rosin Eyecare - Chicago Old Town's Reviews
Usually I don’t leave reviews, however when I came In for my visit. Jennil made the experience phenomenally easy and straight forward. She was welcoming, very detailed & patient in explaining and breaking everything down for me. It was the most simple straightforward process. I came in for an eye exam, new glasses and contacts. She even made quick adjustments to my current frames. 10/10 recommend. I hope everyone was passionate & caring as Jennil.
Went in to get my glasses adjusted, very quick and professional.
Super helpful and kind with a great range of frames. Thank you Rosin Eyecare 🫶
My lease was broke i did not buy them there had no appointment and Jennil was able to fix them rite away no charge awesome place definitely recommend
Jennil was knowledgeable, caring and helpful! I worked with Jennil on ordering rigid gas permeable contact lenses. With the challenges of having a -5.25 near-sided prescription coupled with a the challenge the aging new founded far-sided vision. She was so helpful in ordering the multi-focal contact lenses. I picked them up from her today and I can see perfectly!
Excellent. On a 5-star scale, Dr. Barber and the staff here get 6 stars.
Dr. Barber was very kind and helped me out with contacts in a pinch! Very clean and nice place, I had a great experience!
Horrible customer service. I was given 2 prescriptions, without being informed and essentially the one that was filled by a different retail eyewear store, never worked for me. After waiting for my eyes to adjust, I went back and experienced a poor the level of care & service. I was told I’d need to pay for another exam. Also, was told there were no exam openings until the following week, but there were same day openings online. The front end needs coaching in customer service.
TLDR; There was a clear, deliberate effort to hide the fact that the contacts given to me during my exam were not covered by my insurance. Rewind to 2 weeks ago: I walk in, hand over my insurance info, and fill out all of the intake forms. I made it clear that I was worried about insurance so I wasn’t going to buy any glasses/contacts that day, but I did need to do a contact fitting along with my normal eye exam. I was handed some contacts and told to put them in as part of the exam… so I did. That mistake cost me $150 and would've cost me a lot more if I hadn't repeatedly declined the offers to just buy more on the spot. My subpar vision insurance only covers select lenses and I stupidly assumed that by reviewing my coverage beforehand, the nice people at Rosin would inform me on which ones to get and which to stay away from. The more I asked about coverage (mainly after I’d already tried the contacts), the sketchier it felt, though. Once the insurance claim went through, I was able to see clearly that they gave me a “Non-selection Contact Lens Fitting” which requires me to cover the full amount ($150) instead of giving me any of the available contacts that are considered “Selection Lenses” and covered in full by my insurance. And just to be clear: the contacts I said I’d been wearing are covered by my insurance. I was specifically urged to get this other set without any mention about the lack of coverage for them.
My review is echoing many before mine. While Dr. Purier was comprehensive and kind, the administrative staff caused me to leave this practice in tears multiple times. Most recently, I was avoiding picking up my glasses for months because of past experiences, and this trip ended the same way- I was told if my glasses were any tighter they’d pinch me (they are sliding off my face as I write this.) They made me use my yearly insurance-allotted appointment just months after my first because they did not enter my most recent prescription correctly, causing my glasses to have the wrong prescription two times. I also took home mislabeled contact samples *twice* causing confusion and headaches. I will never return to this practice, nor would I ever recommend it. It is not worth the emotional distress coming here, even for the convenience of being close.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
