List of Shelly Betman Md's Reviews
Absolute Best I come fron a family of doctors and havf Imseen Dr Betman for many years. She is an outstanding listener and an excellemt internist. If you can get in, i wouid HIGHLY recommend her.
Dr. Betman is not only an outstanding doctor, she is a compassionate and caring person. She explains everything in detail, orders the appropriate tests when necessary, and responds with appropriate urgency when necessary. My daughterand I both love her and feel safe and comfortable in her hands. I was surprised to hear complaints about her office manager! Gina is extremely responsible and knowledgeable and is always responds to my messages in a timely fashion. I have prescriptions for medicines that are difficult to find and she has been great at helping me get them filled and accommodating my needs. Anyone would be lucky to have an internist as inderduo as Dr Berman!
I have had many physicians for my medical care. I have never had a physician who listened as well, or sincerely cared for me. She always walks into the exam room with a smile, like she is happy to see you. When I developed unexpected health problems she immediately focused, wrote the tests I should have, took care of what she could, and then, referred me to the most appropriate specialist. She is brilliant, competent and compassionate. She trusts my judgment and within reason, provides me with what I need. I also moved my husband to her practice. We both believe we are well-taken care of under her medical expertise.
I am always so very happy with Dr. Shelly Betman, MD. I have had the pleasure of having Dr. Betman as my Primary Doctor for many years, and I absolutely feel confident and comfortable with her. I love Dr. Betman, and I personally feel that the caring she gives me, is of utmost importance, and truly makes me feel that I am well taken care of in all my medical needs. My daughter, also feels the same way, and has been a patient of Dr. Betman's for some years. She is the best in my eyes!
Missed appointment because of travel delay and explained with 2 kids it was very hard to access email (my cell phone was not working) and mobile to leave a message —-trying to rebook flights and hotel (late night ) and was charged $100 no show fee by doctor. I even explained it all to the front desk. Don’t recommend provider, not worth 4 mths wait for an appointment.
Takes her time
Dr. Betman has lost her touch. I began seeing her more than 10 years ago, on recommendation from my therapist. Dr. Betman used to be the gold standard for PCP care for patients with eating disorders. Not sure what happened. I have continued to struggle with eating disorders, in addition to PCOS and hypothyroidism. I asked for a yearly check of my thyroid levels and she told me no because they don't change that often. After switching to a proper endocrinologist, less than a year after Dr. Betman last tested, I have proof this isn't true. Her negligence means I have been on an improper dose of medication for months. Additionally, as part of a conversation where she pushed me to lose weight, she suggested I "talk to someone" about my issues with food. I reminded her that I have, that the therapist I see referred me to her, and that I have had an eating disorder for decades. It was clear, based on her reaction when I said this, as well as other comments, that she didn't even bother to look at my chart/history before coming in. If you have an eating disorder, thyroid problem or PCOS, please, please find someone else. Otherwise you may be subject to Dr. Betman suggesting Weight Watchers because "they have so many freebie foods."

Dr. Betman was fine. She listened to what I had to say and was open to working through prescriptions/ solutions for my issues. Her office manager, however, is the absolute worst customer service representative I have ever encountered. She is not only rude in person, she also put in incorrect prescriptions for me and then when I continued to ask about preauthorization forms for insurance to lower the cost of my actual medications, she told me I was not a priorty and she would need to deal with patients who had more urgent health matters...it was a 2 page form she had to fill out online and it ended up taking her 3 weeks. I'm still waiting to get my prescriptions because she entered information incorrectly, and they are charging me 4 times what the cost should be. The billing for my visits were also messed up and I truly think she has no idea what she is doing when it comes to insurance and billing. She is a menace to patients and should be terminated for not only the numerous errors in her work but also her attitude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
