I have been a patient at Solo for a very long time. Even though Dr. Bob (who no longer sees patients) and Dr. Greg (who sees patients on a limited schedule) are truly the greatest doctors ever, they have continued to hire doctors who exemplify the same high level of quality care. The selection of eyewear is amazing, and if this location doesn't have exactly what you're looking for, I'm certain one of their other locations will. The staff is always professional, welcoming, and helpful, which makes every visit a great experience. I highly recommend Solo for both eye care and eyewear.

The team at SoLo is great. I’ve been coming here for about 20 years. I live out of state and we make eye appointments part of our pre-holiday weekend in Chicago. The team is thorough and professional, and they have a great selection of frames.

Dr.Kristina Koinoglou at the Printers Row location probably has the worst bedside manner I ever seen, I’m a nurse so that says a lot because I have worked with many providers in my career. She seemed around the same age so I thought we would connect in a sense? Sometimes older doctors are out of date but obviously great in what they do but I wanted a little change. However, her age showed and she seemed very unprofessional. Actually kind of back talked, had an attitude, and had the worst facial expressions when I talked about my symptoms. During the exam, my right eye wouldn’t focus so I couldn’t see the lines she wanted me to read. She got noticeably upset about it. Literally one of the reasons why I was there and as if I could help it?! Another time she threw her hands up in the air because I took the one tool away from my eye that I used to cover it because she didn’t say anything for a good minute so I thought I was done with that part, she could of at least communicated that and said “okay now give me one sec but keep that one eye covered”. But throwing up your hands because you were frustrated… I was very taken back to say the least. She fit me for some contacts and I took trials home, I didn’t even go back to let them know how they fit because of how unprofessional and unfriendly she was, didn’t even want to deal with her again. The contacts didn’t even fit correctly.. I can feel them move in my eye all the time. In addition, the staff at the front desk was also not great. Overall a terrible experience. Will not be going back.

I’ve been going to Solo for the past 4 years and have nothing but good things to say! Dr. Val is the best - caring and extremely thorough. Everyone from the front desk staff to the optometry students in training are great and always helpful. Couldn’t recommend enough!

I love this place all the ladies where so sweet. Julia is an angel. They also have a great selection! After landing in Chicago my boyfriend eyeglasses broke and he couldn't see and on a whim we walked in to see what she'd advise so our trip wouldn't be ruined. Julia offered to glue them and temporarily fix them and even offered a few frames! She definitely saved our trip. go here !
