I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with SunCloud Health on several shared cases, and I can say they provide exceptional, comprehensive care. Their multidisciplinary approach offers clients a truly integrated treatment experience. SunCloud goes beyond symptom management to address the root causes of mental health and substance use issues. I’ve consistently seen patients benefit from their thoughtful, trauma-informed care and supportive environment. Communication with their team has always been professional, timely, and collaborative. They take continuity of care seriously, which makes a huge difference in long-term outcomes. I highly recommend SunCloud Health to anyone seeking a higher level of care.

A Life-Changing Experience I cannot say enough good things about my experience at SunCloud. From the moment I arrived, I felt truly seen, heard, and cared for. The staff—from therapists, psychiatrists and support team members—are compassionate, highly skilled, and deeply committed to each individual's healing journey. Group and individual sessions are both insightful and empowering, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practices, and trauma-informed care. What stood out most was the sense of community and genuine connection. My time here helped me develop the tools I needed to manage my mental health. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility. It truly saved my life, and I will always be grateful.

Sun Cloud Health egregiously violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and the ethical guidelines for a mental health institution by forcing me to discharge from their Chicago location's PHP program due to deeming my service animal a "safety concern" (their words). There were two incidents on separate treatment days in which my service animal did bark - once because another patient slammed a door and a second time on a separate occasion due to the same patient stepping on him. I immediately corrected the behavior and removed my dog from the presence of the other patient in both scenarios, and also implemented proactive measures to manage interactions with this other patient. Sun Cloud did not discuss either of these incidents with me, but made an internal decision without my knowledge or involvement to prohibit me from bringing my service animal to programming. Sun Cloud Health did not offer alternate accommodations for my disability, instead forcing me to prematurely discharge from their program. Earlier in the same day, I had alerted the Sun Cloud Health team of active suicidal ideation symptoms (with intent). This took place approximately 4 hours prior to discharge. Still, I was discharged by the Site Director and my assigned Treatment Coordinator with no resources, follow-up, or plan for continuation of care. The Sun Cloud Health team did not contact my emergency contact or outpatient treatment team despite discharging me with active suicidal ideation, among other active symptoms. To this date I have received no follow up from Sun Cloud Health, though they did continue to charge my payment plan. Through discussing this incident with my outpatient treatment team I have learned this is not an isolated incident of ethical violations within Sun Cloud Health and it seems to be a matter of time before their lack of concern for patient care results in loss of life. I would not recommend Sun Cloud Health to anyone seeking compassionate and ethically sound treatment.

I’m so grateful for my time in the PHP/IOP program. The program and dedicated staff truly saved my life. I can say I made some positive and permanent change in my life after being there for about 6 months. It’s been 1.5 years since I was discharged and I’m so grateful for the help I got. There really isn’t a price to getting better after trauma and severe mental illness. Paige, Dr Annan, and the rest of the staff were so wonderful.

I have known Dr Kim for over 10 years and can attest to her reputation, professionalism and experience. She is highly respected in the field and puts patient care first. The standard of care is set higher for others in the organization from her leadership.

I have referred a couple of my patients to SunCloud. One of my favorite things about SunCloud is that they treat the individual, not the disease. Also they treat co-occurring disorders and get to the underlying cause. The one thing my patients always talk about is the community that is built with other patients and the treatment team. I am going to continue to send my patients to SunCloud that need a higher level of care.

I entered a PHP program at SunCloud for my anxiety and depression. I was really nervous at first because I just assumed it would be like what I saw in movies - people in white gowns mumbling about, running into one another. Turns out it was the complete opposite. The staff were so patient and funny, it was hard to have a bad day in such a comforting environment. SunCloud focuses on a community-based approach meaning patients were encouraged to check in with each other and openly discuss any hardships (only what they’re comfortable with, no one is forced to talk or share, ever). I was a little hesitant with this, but soon realized that healing the community was actually healing me. We gave to and took from one another in a way I can’t really explain. It was all so therapeutic and cathartic at the same time. SunCloud saved my life. They changed the fundamental way I approach life and deal with the difficult times. The mornings aren’t so dreadful anymore, and the unexpected, sudden changes in life are no longer so catastrophic.

Dr. Kim CHANGED my life! I didn't work with her at Suncloud but at a residential treatment center prior to suncloud opening. I was angry, using unhealthy coping skills, and thinking about dying most of my life. She is the most real, tough, compassionate, direct, thorough person and psychiatrist! I had so many reasons why I wasn't going to make it, why nothing was going to change, and why I wasn't going to listen to anyone!!! I met my match with Dr.Kim! She saw my pain, sat with me and held space, she also pushed me and challenged me and held me accountable. I will always remember my time with Dr. Kim and will be forever grateful for her!
