I have been a patient of Dr. William Frericks since 1985, and this was in response to a referral for a horrible job another dentist had performed on my teeth. After some time, those issues were corrected, and I have never looked back, and he has preserved as well as professionally corrected many of my other dental issues throughout 30 plus years. I have never had a problem since.Every one is great in the office, and very accommodating. Besides Dr. Frericks, Joann is my go to for my cleanings, and Jaimie is my go to for any questions that I may have in regards to services, but they are all wonderful.Thank you.

I have been a patient of Dr. Frericks since I lived in the city, which was well over a dozen years ago ... Now I've moved to the suburbs and refuse to find a new dentist! Making an appointment at The Magnificent Smile is always an easy and pleasurable experience. The reminders that its time for a cleaning are so helpful! I've always seen the wonderful hygienist Karyn for my cleaning, and she is not only thorough, but she genuinely cares about my comfort and tells me thoughtfully about any areas of concern. Dr. Frericks is the best dentist ... I've never had one ounce of pain. His chair-side manner is so caring and calming, and he talks with me through what procedure he is doing and WHY. He leaves no stone unturned in regards to my dental health, and has walked with me through a few toothaches, crowns, cavities, etc. and steps to take to fix past dentists (poor) work.I've never had a doctor that I would make a more confident recommendation for, and the Magnificent Smile deserves the best rating possible. Here's a tip, too ... if you drive to The Magnificent Smile, use the Nordstrom parking garage and make an excursion of your trip to the dentist! I get my parking validated at Nordstrom and generally end up having lunch in the cafe. This way, every visit to the dentist turns into a day worth bragging about :)5 Stars!

The Magnificent Smile/Dr Wm FrericksRelocated to Chicago late 2008. A few months later I realized my semiannual teeth cleaning slipped by me, & a friend referred me to Dr Frericks at The Magnificent Smile. Standard stuff is terrific. Jaime makes appointment scheduling "painless." They are busy, but if you have an urgent need she alerts you to cancellations & on one occasion just squeezed me into his packed day when I said "really need to see him." My hygienist, Karyn, is informative, efficient, & a sweetheart, which is nice because I spend almost entire time in a routine visit with her.Now, about the nonstandard stuff. An obsessive brusher/flosser, I have generally excellent dental health. In the year before becoming Frericks' patient I had the first serious dental issue of my adult life, an abscess resulting in root canal and crown. To make a long story slightly shorter, the original infection was never totally eradicated, and I had a few recurrences of discomfort, one on Dr F's watch as my dentist. I phoned from a Florida vacation with rapid onset pain so severe I was distracted from enjoying my daughter's company on Spring Break. I was in the chair moments after I landed at OHare.He treated the infection, made the pragmatic observation that this chronic problem was unlikely to abate and probably causing significant bone damage, and referred me to an oral surgeon (Neil Hagen is also AWESOME, but that's another yelp review) who removed the tooth, and confirmed I had "a big hole in there" which was not likely to have ever responded fully to antibiotics. I now approach the end of the process of getting an implant/crown. During the entire process I've been professionally treated, had the feeling that my care providers communicated with each other, and simply been made comfortable and confident. Dr Frericks has great chairside manner, answers any questions in as much depth as I want, is patient-focused, and simply a good human being. I'm kind of a freak about being informed and treated well by competent health care professionals of any discipline, and I think nothing of switching care providers to get that kind of care. As I relocate again, away from Chicago, I'm considering remaining a Magnificent Smile patient. They're just that good.

My partner had his veneers done by Dr. Schwarz over 25 years ago. They are still perfect. When we moved to Chicago over 10 years ago it was great that we did not have to go looking for a dentist. I went for a few years and then made the mistake of going to another dentist – I work from home and wanted to be able to walk to the dentist. Big mistake. I think the new dentist saw the $$$ signs. I was told that I had chronic decay and need lots of work. I will be the first to admit that I don’t have the best teeth – not paying attention to them for many years when young and many of my front teeth have fillings. The new dentist recommended that I pull all these and get implants. Needless to say, I went back to Dr. Schwarz and have been happily with her since – and no I did not have chronic decay and my teeth are pretty good 6 years later. What I like about Dr. Schwarz is that she is conservative in what she recommends. She knows my teeth and I trust her opinion. I appreciate her even more after having a bad experience with another dentist. JoAnn is my dental hygienist. I can’t say enough good things about JoAnn either. Highly recommend that you get a good dental hygienist like JoAnn and stick with her. The Magnificent Smile is on Michigan Avenue. They open some mornings at 7:00 and other mornings at 7:30. I live in Andersonville and can make it down there for the first appointment in 15 minutes. Parking with SpotHero at 50 East Ohio Street garage for $12. I believe they do validation for the the 500 North Michigan Avenue building. Dr. Schwarz also does Botox for her patients (pretty common for dentists ). She is a dab hand with the needle. So it's a one stop shop for many things!

I can’t recommend this practice enough. Everyone is friendly, personable and very knowledgable. I genuinely enjoy my visits to the dentist. Ashley is amazing and I look forward to catching up with her at my dental cleanings. They reply to emergencies quickly as well, and don’t waste time to get you in to see the dentist if you’re in pain. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!
