List of Vios Fertility Institute's Reviews
I started my fertility journey in the Milwaukee clinic and when I moved to the Chicagoland area I was able to continue my care here. I will say that the doctors and nurses are very nice and knowledgeable and I am very grateful to have a son because of them. HOWEVER, there are a lot of hidden fees for labs and other things and they can be very difficult to get in contact with (as others have pointed out in reviews) one specific example is when I was in the process of donating my embryos, it felt like it was impossible to get in touch with anyone and even now when I'm trying to dispute fees after I have transferred my embryos out of their clinic and I cannot get anyone to call me back. It's pretty frustrating!
I wish I could accurately rate Kindbody with 0 stars. The most unorganized company I have ever been unfortunate enough to work with. They truly made mistakes at every single step- from transferring my records from my previous facility (my doctor retired, he was the absolute best!) and losing them THREE times, to scheduling errors, the nurses providing inaccurate information. And now, 5 years after using their terrible services, they misplaced my signed documentation for donating my remaining embryos to science and are now charging me $1,000 in embryo storage fees. I have been trying to get to the bottom of this for nearly a year, and have continued to be told the wrong information, sent to different offices, and have been constantly given the runaround. Infertility is terrible enough, and a chapter I thought I had closed, and now Kindbody is adding salt to the wound and not taking any accountability for their mishaps. AVOID this place at all costs, they are an awful company!
My wife and I had an incredibly negative experience with Kindbody in Chicago. Kindbody is a venture backed business struggling to grow. They invest heavily in their social media content that includes every emotional reenactment one can think of. Kindbody needs to get off social media and focus on providing quality service to its patients.
I do not recommended Kindbody to anyone. The fertility journey is already tough enough, and when you have nursing staff/scheduling staff that mess up regularly, it is very frustrating. The staff during my journey between the Crest Hill location and Chicago location were very friendly, however, the amount of times appointments were re-scheduled due to staffing issues or scheduled incorrectly, incorrect/not enough of a script, etc. it is extremely frustrating, especially for a couple paying for EVERYTHING out of pocket. I had one cancelled IVF transfer due to scheduling me a week later than I should've been, due to their staffing issues, even though everything was paid for and all meds had been taken leading up to transfer. I had a letrozole script that was only filled HALFWAY, which stalled another cycle. The amount of wasted money was insane due to their ongoing mistakes. I can truly go on and on about Kindbody and how I strongly suggest couples go elsewhere. I stuck with them only because of having my frozen embryos and being too stressed and worried about transporting my embryos elsewhere. The billing department is a joke. I asked for 6+ months for my credit back in form of a check. As for currently, this month it took nearly an entire month to get a document uploaded in my portal to finally be able to donate my embryos. I called every single day this week in order for it to be uploaded. I strongly suggest couples go elsewhere for seeking fertility options. You already will be going through a lot emotionally, financially, mentally, and this place makes it 10x worse. My experience was absolutely terrible. I truly could go on and on. It's very sad. On one positive note, I do have my first born because of Kindbody. However, please do yourself a favor and choose a different organization.
I usually don't write reviews but sought this out after the past few months I've had. I froze my eggs a few years ago using Vios (it was in the process of switching to Kindbody). That actual process wasn't terrible; their communication was never great but staff was friendly and it moved along quickly. After recently getting the storage bill and based off of my timeline, I decided on transferring them to a more inexpensive facility where I can prepay and be grandfathered into their rates (did my research and found a place I felt comfortable with). Every time I call that facility, I am able to speak to someone, get all my questions answered and get a solution. I requested an itemized bill with specific details and on the day I will billed I received exactly that; they reached out to confirm transfer, etc. Kindbody has been absolutely HORRIBLE. I paid the release fee and requested an itemized bill and it has been 2 months now &I have been unable to get one which I need for insurance purposes. A few times a week I have to call, wait 20 minutes on hold, re-explain the situation and they said they are working on it with no solutions yet. I DID get a bill for $90.00 for an appointment I never had at the West Loop facility? And then I just received another bill for something that doesn't even pertain to my account. Everything seems very messy on their end and there are various groups handling similiar requests so there is no communication and everything takes forever. I thought they were making it difficult for me since I am moving my eggs out of their facility but after reading other reviews/reddit it seems like this is pretty standard since switching to Kindbody. If they are this unorganized with billing, it makes me very concerned on their storage process and even surgeries. If you are between Kindbody and another place, I recommend going the other route.
Great facility. The staff was very nice and friendly. Their bedside manner was on point. The facility was very clean. The offer many different treatment options at this location. It's also a prime location as there are multiple restaurants to walk to if waiting for testing or whatnot and told to come back! They have a small cozy waiting area. You get buzzed in at the front & felt very safe. Has an elevator or stairs to get the office on second floor.
It saddens me to have to write such a bad review because our doctor, Dr. Jeelani, was absolutely AMAZING. However, the remaining staff at Kindbody (Hoffman Estates and West Loop locations) are HORRIBLE. Prior to this being Kindbody, it was VIOS and I never had a single issue w/ VIOS. Kindbody came along and since then, I've been beyond dissatisfied w/ service. My husband and I are very lucky to have IVF covered by insurance but... Went in for a procedure and was not notified until the DAY OF the procedure that the lab doing some of the testing is not contracted w/ insurance companies. Months go by and all of a sudden, my husband's credit card is charges almost $1k w/out notice for the tests done. Kindbody gave me absolutely NO time to check if the lab was contracted and had I known sooner, I would have declined that testing.
Poor responsiveness and excessively expensive. I tried for weeks to get someone to help me in transferring my eggs to my new clinic. Then I had to leave a bad review on Google in order to get any help. After that, they then charged an arm and a leg to get that the transfer processed. This was on top of what I already paid for courier services. A $500 fee to just process the transfer of my eggs to another clinic is unconscionable. The only reason they are even getting 2 stars is bc Dr. Jooshani is a gem.
Very rude management, they treat you like just another number instead of a human being. Appointments are 6-9 months out. You aren't able to speak or have an opinion or ask questions without being told something else. I recommend going to North Western Medicine 259 E. Erie.
I have not had a good experience and they were highly recommended to me. Will take a month to get your results. Impossible to get ahold of.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
