He was wonderful with my child
This doctor should not be treating children. He is rude and does not want to listen to any questions you have. It is a very stressful time having a child with crohns disease. He makes it much worse. I guess he was just in it for the money. He doesn't care about your child.
We saw Dr Israel for my child for several years related to slow growth, abdominal pain and distention and bleeding. She was booked to have a procedure done and biopsies. They took partial biopsies and missed the procedure. I was the one who discovered they failed to do the procedure. He offered no apology but did let us know the biopsies were negative. She was rebooked several months later for her procedure. Then she continued to get worse. Eventually developing sever mental health issues. The psychiatrist at chilrens was the one who said she must have celiac. I said we were told she had negative biopsies. They investigated further and discovered that the had not collected the right biopsies to test for celiac. It took 9 months to get him to agree to take biopsies... sure enough she had celiac. It took almost 4 years to get a diagnosis. He never offered an apology and didnt bother to have us into the office after her diagnosis (just called me and left a voicemail saying test was positive for celiac). I know drs are humans and mistakes will be made, however, he completely dismissed my daughters symptoms. just kept saying increase fiber, water and stool softener for years.
Dr. Israel saved my life and i will be forever grateful for his expertise.
Love him!!! Very good with my kids !!!
We were referred to dr. Israel by our pediatrician. It was difficult to get in to see him but eventually, we were able to see Dr. Israel. He scoped our 14 year old son and diagnosed him crohn's disease. Overall, it has been a tough journey, but Dr. Israel has been very nice towards us and has answered all our questions in a timely and appropriate manner.
Rude, dismissive. Did not hear my concerns at all about my child. Insulting to the doctors who have seen us prior to a referral to a specialist. Will not allow my child to be seen by him again. The long drive to Vancouver which we were hoping would be helpful was a complete waste of time. I wish I had known this would be the outcome.
Our experience with Dr Israel was good. We found him to be pleasant and he took our concerns seriously. He was patient in explaining things to us and good with my young daughter. Also he was prompt with follow up and helpful in addressing my further concerns over the phone. He is a dry personality but agreeable. I would recommend him.
Have 2 children with severe Crohns. My husband and I have never dealt with someone as arrogant and dismissive as Dr. Israel. I won't get into details but the past few years have been nothing short of completely overwhelming, frustrating, and have tested every nerve in our body. We just want our children to be healthy and need answers to questions we have. No help, no answers and when we ask, we are dismissed as not knowing what we are talking about. No return e-mails, calls, and we have given up. Never ever would recommend this doctor.
Dr. Israel is arrogant. Talks to us like nothing's wrong and every thing is in my head. I went to him multiple times and he just leaves me without anything. No diagnosis, no nothing. I've been suffering from severe abdominal pain for as longs as I remember and no one has done anything to help me. I would not recommend this doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
