Was not happy with the results of the Surgery that was performed. Dr Alter was the most arrogant and rude doctor I have ever seen. He said my expectations were too high. He said I was a "difficult" patient and would not refer me to another doctor on his list for continued treatment. Instead he had his assistant look on the internet for a doctor. As he was walking out of the room he told his assistant to send my account to Collections. Would not reccomend Dr Alter to anyone else. In fact I have told several people not to go to him. Find someone else and avoid his unprofessional behavior.

Very kind, generous & smart. Lucky enough to have been referred to him after being in denial of my diabetes situation. He has saved my eye sight & continues to treat me.

Dr. Alter has been taking care of my husband eyes for over 6 yrs. He is very caring & good doctor. His staff is lovely to work with & very caring too. I would recommend this doctor to anyone that’s need a good retina doctor.

There is no doctor as wonderful as this man. I work in the healthcare field. I know many doctors. Dr. Alter must have been sent to this planet from another more wonderful one. He is also very compassionate, witty, and very easy on the eyes. No pun intended.

I don't trust many doctors, esp. being in the health care field. My regular eye doc. had me see Dr. Alter due to Diabetic retinopathy. Because I can't manage my blood sugars well enough. Dr. Alter is a very nice, down to earth doctor that actually has a personality & a sense of humor. I just dread going because doctor's offices really depress me, & I dread what he's going to tell me.

I fly into Chicago just to have Dr. Alter take care of me. Probably the best retina doc in the country and I won't go to anyone else. It's a hassle traveling to Chicago but worth it to see the best.
