Benjamin Domb's Online Review Report Card

During a hip replacement surgery, a different surgeon discovered a detached gluteus medius muscle. He was unable to repair it which meant I would be unable to walk without a cane and a pronounced limp. Nine months later I heard of Dr. Domb. I highly recommend him for the difficult cases as well as the more routine. He never promised that his surgery would fix everything (I'd had a spinal fusion which could impede a full recovery) but he was quite optimistic that he could make it better. I've had a lot of physical therapy since the surgery and am so much better in spite of a second fusion in November. I'll be going back to therapy soon, and with a lot of hard work, am optimistic that I'll be able to walk unassisted by spring.

I was very happy to see Dr. Domb today for my 4 month follow-up on my PRP series of injections. Everything is going well! I would have left 5 stars but we were waiting two hours after our scheduled appointment time for our appointment to begin!

A very disappointing visit since I had seen him for over 7 months receiving PRP and physical therapy. I learned from Mayo Clinic this week that I have an infected hip and need the device removed and another temporary plus antibiotics. Seven months waisted as well as payment for a procedure that was given without checking for infection.

Did both hips complete replacement. Quality of life increased to 110 percent if that's possible. None better!!!

Dr. Domb performed bilateral arthroscopic FAI surgery on our 21 year old son and we are so grateful for his expertise, skill and care! We feel confident that our son is in the best hands!

Dr. Domb is the best of the best. He did my hip surgery 5 years ago and have had no issues since. If your hesitate, don’t be. You will be taken care of from the moment you walk in there.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I had labral repair done in 2020. From my very first visit, the office was disorganized and full of very rude people. Dr Domb literally told me nothing about what my scans showed just that he’s the best and that’s all I needed to know. I should have run away then.He performed unnecessary procedures that were not covered by insurance (they require you to pay $5k out of pocket up front. NO other doctor requires this. This is on top of your deductibles etc). These procedures are heavily debated in the hip orthopedic world but he won’t tell you he’s doing them. 5 months post op my repair failed and caused a new tear. When I went back to the office he refused to do an MRA which would show his work had failed. (Oh when I went in he blamed me for my relapse. He literally said why did you mess up my work). I ended up having a second labral repair but due to the experimental work he did in my first surgery I am now going to need a hip replacement.I’m at peace with what happened to me but please run as far as you can from this doctor. He is a megalomaniac who is only out to make money. He will not care when it didn’t work and will just try to sell you PRP injections. Run away. There are so many wonderful orthopedic surgeons in chicago. You do not need him.

Three month post surgery check up with Dr Domb and I could not be happier! Repaired a severely torn labrum and made several other corrections. Greater range of motion and finally no pain after over four years. I no longer worry about my hip! Dr Domb is truly a magician! Thank you again!
