List of David P. Gerard's Reviews
I am not recommending this doctor. The recovery after endoscopy's sedation took two days! Because of his rush, he doubled the dosage of sedation medication.
This man has no people skills. Stay away
Dr. Gerard is a wonderful doctor. My entire family has been seeing him for years for a variety of GI issues. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. He has performed colonoscopies and endoscopies on my entire family, and he is extremely skilled at these procedures. His staff is also very nice and helpful.
This office does not have a nurse as of 2018. Their nurse left 2017. A temp nurse for 2 mos. and now none. I am uncomfortable with not being able to talk to a nurse. To gain information of illness, one has to make an appointment. Some things can be discussed with a nurse especially if a patient has already seen a doctor. Dr. Gerard is far too quiet and seems uninvolved in spite of his talented credentials. I do not feel he is the one to take care of me in my golden years. Keeps his distance. An ER visit appeared that he was unfazed by the outcome and did not want to share any medical information of his own about future episodes that may occur. He is just too withdrawn.
This guy is RUDE, CONDESCENDING and des not listen. He asks me questions, and then is very pushy to get through the appointment. He rushed me and questioned everything I told him I was experiencing. He is just rude, rude, rude, RUDE. I get uncomfortable the whole time even when he first came in and 'introduced'himself to me, he did not give eye contact and as I was about to lift my hand up to shake his, he didnt shake mine. So weird and unprofessional of a doctor. DONNOT RECOMMEND
Im extremely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Gerard. He didn't listen to what I was telling him. I tried to explain that I felt like my issues where more significant than what he said they were. He spoke very condescendingly to me after I told him what I thought might be my issue. I decided to try to do what he prescribed to fix the problem. I ended up needing to go to the ER the next day because I was in so much pain. Now I have to pay him for a "service" that he really didn't provide.
Frankly, Dr. Gerard was rude and impatient. I tried to explain to him the issues I had been having but he seemed completely uninterested. I told him that I felt that my issues were more significant that what he was diagnosing me with. After I told him what I thought could be my issue and he spoke very condescendingly to me. I decided that I would try what he had prescribed to fix the issue and ended up needing to go to the ER the next day because I was in so much pain. They were also able to tell me that I did have a more significant issue. Now I have to pay a hospital bill as well as Dr. Gerard for a "service" he really did not provide.

Dr. Gerard was very impatient and rude with my 85 yo mother-in-law. Not only did we wait over 45 minutes to see him, but he did not explain that an exam included a rectal exam until he was about to perform the exam. She was not prepared and was traumatized. More caring and compassion would be in order for the elderly.
Dr. Gerard and his entire staff are a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
