Literally the best psychiatrist ever in life! Dr. Mirza is one of the most ethical docs around…
Dr. Mirza is the BEST! She is so easy to talk to… she also always does what’s best for the pt and their overall outcome. I appreciate how much she’s helped me in life! she’s very ethical and will always do what’s right
Genuinely terrible. She has no interest in her patients as human beings and is not interested in discussing plan of care. Bringing up concerns to her about your medications is treated like an act of outright defiance. One appointment she asked me how a new medication was working. When I told her she did not call it in to the pharmacy, she became every irritable and argued with the nurse for several minutes that she sent it and said nothing else to me. That was the appointment and I was billed in full for it, of course, despite there being absolutely no clinical information elicited. I had another where she rounded on me in the hospital and stood in the doorway playing with her hair looking behind her and asked "how are you". I answered that I was fine, she mumbled something like "okay we'll keep with the current meds" and she left without saying anything else. Again, I'm getting billed by a psych who doesn't even ask questions to assess me and can't be troubled to even look in my direction? These sort of interactions were at least 50% of what I experienced with her. Complete disinterest. The other half was her gawking at me like I was insane for bringing up any concerns or in any way disagreeing with her plan of care (wanting to stay on medication that was effective for me rather than start a different one with a worse side effect profile, etc). I'm the patient who brought myself here but I shouldn't ask questions or have opinions? She also made a major, very heavy diagnosis and never once spoke of it to me despite multiple interactions where she had the opportunity to do so. I had to find out her diagnosis by reading my chart via patient portal. If you diagnose someone with COPD or diabetes and are presumably treating them for this, would you not communicate that diagnosis with them so they can properly care for themselves? That's just blatantly disrespectful and prevents you as the patient from the chance to discuss a diagnosis. I was genuinely shocked at the diagnosis and spent time going line by line in the DSM trying to find what criteria she was using for diagnostic and found too few traits to even qualify for a diagnosis. I would have liked the opportunity to discuss the diagnosis to try to understand what I wasn't seeing that she was (sometimes you can't objectively see yourself) I was not given that chance. My psych of 8+ years and psychologist were puzzled by the diagnosis as well. This is even more frustrating because the diagnosis, which those who know me best don't find fitting at all, is one with a great deal of stigma attached. Maybe she was right but shouldn't I have the chance to know what you're basing treatment plans off of? I am a healthcare professional. I'm well aware of what good care is and she does not provide it. She doesn't even try to fake it and that's the part that baffles me. Normally even if you hate your job and your patients, you still pretend to be professional. She doesn't even do that. She doesn't even try. There is absolutely no excuse for the way she treats her patients. We are human beings, Dr. Mirza, and we have a right to ask questions and discuss concerns. If you are spending more time in appointments playing with your hair than talking to your patients, something is wrong.
I have been seeing Dr. Mirza for over a year now. We have worked on my medications and I feel she truly listens to my symptoms when changing prescriptions. She is very knowledgeable about psychiatric medications.

Dr. Mirza is very knowledgeable about psychiatry and has helped me tremendously throughout my healing journey. She had an approach that feels she truly does care and wants to know more about what has been going on so she can understand from a physicians perspective.

She was my psychiatrist at Good Samaritan hospital in Downers Grove. She was cold and dismissive. She would blame me for my emotions, and only tell me to journal. She was extremely rude every time we met. I was honestly scared of her because my care was in her hands. She would not educate me on my medications, and said I was overthinking and too anxious every time I would ask questions. After reading all my charts after discharge, I found multiple times when she would switch around what I would say and blatantly lie. I do not know how she is allowed to care for patients with mental ailments.
Horrible excuse for a psychiatrist. Literally just lies in her notes, unbelievably rude, does not care about patients. It would be a dramatic benefit to any institution she worked at if she was fired, patients would be significantly happier without her. The high star review is absolutely her or a friend, definitely not a real review.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
