List of John Kay's Reviews
I took my mother to see Dr Kay at this place for a follow-up of some retinal surgery that she had in St Louis. They really treat everyone here with respect and kindness. The place is very neat and tidy. There is a either or bathroom and it was very clean as I expected. I feel like my mother's getting the best care she can receive here. So if you're in need of a good doctor for Eye Care mostly surgery and such please see Dr Kay, he's a great doctor
recent visit to Dr Kay went very well.....only need to see him once per yr,which is a good thing......my sig. other has seen him for many yrs,so we schedule visits together.....my purpose is for "diabetic retinology"which i dont have, which is very good.......my sight is good too,as i wear glasses......so,,,all & all very good visit
Very professional And rude staff The on call doctor never even seen me, he didn't even show up in my Room after I waited for 2 hours, they told me that the reason for my wait was due to me being 10 minutes late which I was only 3 minutes late, I will NEVER go back to this place again, ended up walking out and not even getting my eyes checked I would not recommend this place what so ever to anyone, if you value your eyes PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE..
Dr Kay is awful. Very rude. Talked to me in a very degrading way. Slammed a tissue in my hand after I had to ask for one. He acted disgusted that I had to ask for a tissue after he put dye in my eye. It was running down my face. I had to catch it so it wouldn't stain my clothes. Rude front office. Christy Hohenberry (sp) is great however!!!
Dr. Kay may be a good doctor, but he is curt and rude. I had just a few issues which I thought were of concern. He made me feel as though I was an idiot for bothering him. Some he didnt even mention until I asked. When I was leaving a staff member said I would receive a letter in 2 weeks with a report and when/if I should return. That was 6 weeks ago; still no letter. One of these days I will need cataract surgery. I will be looking for a surgeon who is willing to discuss my eyes with me without being such a jerk.
Love my doctor, but the staff answering the phone and returning calls is horrible. I have waited 3 weeks for a call back. Then called back to go again to voice mail. Glasses prices high but the contacts are exremely reasonable. Comparable to discounted prices.
VERY UNPROFFESIONAL AND RUDE.HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS AND HAS A VERY BAD ATTITUDE..iI WOULD GO TO A VET FOR EYE CARE BEFORE I EVER WENT TO HIM.VERY BAD EXPERIENCE..FELT LIKE SOMEONE PUT GASOLINE IN MY EYE AFTER HE DID HIS SURGERY..THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER OPTIONS BEFORE YOU GO TO HIM..CHECK THEM OUT
Wouldn't go anywhere else. Always get prompt care, courteous service and the staff are wonderful. I've never had problems getting my contacts or glasses exactly when I needed them and they are in peddling perfect condition. Would recommend it to everyone.
I had major pain in my right eye, went to my Doctor and she knew it needed immediate attention from an Ophthalmologist. I didn't have an eye specialist at that time, she got me in to see Dr Kay that day. I did have to wait longer than normal, as I was worked in. He was very thorough with my exam and diagnosed me with Iritis - My pressure was high and needed to be addressed so I would not have permanent eye damage! I would definitely recommend Dr Kay! I have since had Cataracts removed!
We had appointment for 210 pm. There before the appointment time. Not many in waiti m g room. .we left at 4pm without seeing dr. Kay. Our time is worth something also. I thought about sending him a bill for the time I took off work. If you are that slow then change how you schedule your appointments.they had done some testing on him but it had been done for an hour. I won't go back especially if this the way he practices. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
