John H Wilkerson's Online Review Report Card

My friends and family have been seeing Dr. Wilkerson for generations and we were sad to hear he has dementia.We too noticed a change during our recent visits (confusion, not understanding, speaking/babble). We thought it was because he is close to retiring and doesn’t care anymore.He seemed so distant and not listening to any words we were saying. Even explaining ourselves in a different way was no help, he was just confused. It all makes sense now.My suggestion is to LISTEN to your patients and really put yourself into their shoes instead of just making generic blanket statements.We have since found a compassionate younger family Dr who is more in tune with recent medical developments and quickly and expeditiously helped me obtain the proper medical care that I needed. I can't tell you enough how much better my quality of life is with a new, more current, and educated Dr. The new Dr improved my life more than words can express - and all he did was listen, understand, and take the CORRECT action.We sent the correct diagnosis to Wilkerson for his edification on new science and how listening to patients is actually a thing.Good luck in your retirement Dr. Wilkerson!!!

I just came here Dr. Wilkerson is a terrible doctor he didn’t seem to care about anything I told him, he just saw me for about 5 minutes and told me nothing. If I could give no stars I would.

Identified a spike in PSA blood work and referred me to a urologist. Quick response led to diagnosis and successful bstantontreatment of cancer.

Dr. Wilkerson has been my PCP for many years. I consistently find him to be patient, thorough, concerned and he does an excellent job of explaining conditions and reasons for medications. His nursing and office staff are also pleasant and efficient. Excellent all around- I wouldn't go to anyone else.

John Wilkerson has been my doctor for over 15 years. He has always been caring and attentive. He is an excellent doctor and I would recommend him.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr Wilkerson for over 25 yrs. He is very diligent in his role as our family physician. He has a direct and honest approach, and gives the best treatment available. This physician has saved my life a few times! Thanks for all you do and keep up the great work doc!!!!

I am very happy of Dr Wilkerson's practice. He explains my medical problems in a language I can understand. He is very knowledgeable and compassionate and has good bedside manner. He takes time to listen to me. I've been seeing him for 20 years because he pays attention to every detail of my concerns and he is sensitive to my needs. I trust him and have confidence in his care. Highly recommend him.

I will preface this by stating I have absolutely no issue with any nurses or staff at Dr. Wilkerson's office. They did their job respectfully and patiently, and for that I am grateful. However, in my 20 short years of seeing physicians I have never experienced one throw a temper tantrum like Wilkerson did when I came in to discuss my medications and vomiting. He began the visit by questioning me as to why it was "the third time" I was seeing him, as if he was not my primary at that time. He then criticized me and told me to "try harder" to get in contact with the specialists HE recommended to me, who all consistently put me on month's long waitlists. He did not seem phased by this, and again, told me I should be "trying harder" to seek medical attention (as if I was not already in a medical establishment??). I had went basically for nausea and to stop vomiting. He refused to prescribe me Zofran (non-addictive, not a pain killer, literally just makes you not throw up). He refused -_-. After speaking to me for less than 3 minutes he sent me on my way to pee in a cup and that was it. When I requested to receive a doctors note attesting to my USELESS visit with Wilkerson, he pulled me back into his office to tell me to "go get a doctors not from a psychiatrist, I am not one." When I asked him how my vomiting had anything to do with a psych issues, he just said "well, they do," and basically sent me on my merry way. I proceeded to have a meltdown in the parking lot, not because i didn't get medication, and didn't get to talk to REAL profession, but because I have never interacted with such an unprofessional physician. He was just mean and seemed annoyed I had even come in, which was strange because instead of doing my regular virtual visit, he personally requested I waste my time and come in person. I took myself to an Immediate Care after being traumatized by him, and was met with such compassion and respect by the doctor's that I cried in front of the random doctor that saw me. She then prescribed me Zofran to HELP ME, which I really appreciate, and wrote me a note (like any doctor). I don't care if Wilkerson see's this or not, but for any patient that is contemplating going to see this man for medical attention, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. It is clear he is gets frustrated when his patients come to him for more than Motrin. You are better off staying at home and suffering, to put it lightly. For your personal safety and mental health do not see this man please.
