Since my fusion almost a year ago in August, I have had the pleasure of dealing with one of the greatest offices in Elgin. Dr. Matteini is top notch not only as a surgeon but great at explaining your care and progress to where you can understand it and be at ease. The entire staff from front office to technicians is excellent. Great group of people. God Bless them all.

In early May I hurt my back while performing minor yard work. Days later the pain was so debilitating that I went to the ER and was referred to Doctor Matteini in the event things didn't clear up. Unfortunately the pain stayed so I scheduled an appointment with Doctor Matteini. She seemed hurried and as if her mind was made up about my condition before we even met. She then told me I have weak core muscles and prescribed physical even after being told I couldn't stand or sit. Went to another Specialist who gave me skeletal muscle relaxers and an MRI. Found out that I had multiple herniated discs and stenosis L1 - L5. The MRI was even performed after I was feeling better. A lot of missed time at work, lost money, and unnecessary agony.

Dr Matteini was very attentive and professional. I felt like she really wanted to help me get better. I did not feel rushed and she listened to me. This is totally opposite from a doc I had seen 2 days prior from a different ortho group who was not helpful at all.

Went there for back pain. Found her very dismissive. Short, quick answers. Felt like she was in a rush to get out of the room. Recommended an unnecessarily high dose of NSAIDS. (800mg Q 8). I know a lot of quality doctors but I can’t recommend this one.

Dr. Matteini was awesome with my son. She made him feel very comfortable and had him laughing throughout the examination. Highly recommend her is you are experiencing any neck/spine issues.

I have had no one directing my care. I have made appointments for tests and pretty much handed my care. Dr Matteini was a great help in giving my a good game plan as to that I need to do with my care plan. How to schedule health plan and the sequence to do it. Dr Matteini spent the time explaining where to start. My care and all the step I need to do to get better. That's much more than most doctors will do today.

Dr. Matteini makes you feel welcome at the office. She takes the time to review and explain in a way that makes sense. I left with a clear understanding and very comfortable with where my care was going.
