Poor service and expensive
Very good doctor Dotchev and his staff! Thank you!
Bad service especially Dr dotchev And their receptionist are so unprofessional
Dr. MILLER DELIVERED MY DAUGHTER AT ALEXIAN BROTHERS. HE IS AN EXCELLENT DOCTOR VERY PROFESSIONAL, KIND AND CARING.
Great Doctor and staff. Dr Dotchev is professional and calm, he delivered both my babies, both pregnancies I had some medical issues, but was able to get in for emergency appointments and all my questions have been answered. I read some negative reviews about the office staff, but my experience with them has been great. Their office policies are pretty clear and staff is friendly.
I literally was just asked to leave Dr. Dotchev's office. In 2014 I went to the Amita Hospital emergency room late at night, formerly Alexian Brothers. I was just assaulted. At that time, I didn't have a primary care physician because I had just moved back to the area after living overseas for a few years. The hospital assigned Dr. Plamen Dotchev. I don't even remember him other than the fact that he was assigned to my case when I was in the hospital. I did not see him during that tome. I just had to do a follow up with him after the emergency room visit to make sure I was alright after the assault. I made that follow up visit a week after the assault and he was very kind. A few months later I switched jobs and Dr. Dotchev was no longer covered in my new healthcare plan so I had to switch. I had only been to him ONCE so it didn't seem wrong for me to make the switch. I went to a different OB/GYN and only saw the new one once. I have not seen another OB/GYN since. Fast forward to now. I have a new executive position at a new company and have great benefits. I see that Dr. Dotchev is in my plan and I think great. He was so nice after my assault that I felt he would be the right person to care for me considering the sensitivity of my experience. I made an appointment and was asked to come this morning at 8:15 AM. I called off work for the morning and made my way there. I handled paperwork and did my weight and check in, vitals, etc. The nursing assistant asked me to change into the paper gowns and wait for the doctor. Less than five minutes later she comes back and asks me to put my clothes on and leave. Apparently, Dr. Dotchev cannot and will not see me because I left and transferred my medical records to another clinic four years ago. I couldn't understand the nurse so she brought in the office manager. She explained because I left and had my post assault medical records transferred to another clinic, I am 'not welcome to see Dr. Dotchev ever again.' I said ever? She repeated, no he will not see you again. And she said please get dressed. I was literally asked to leave. When I asked for clarity she said that once I leave Dr. Dotchev I cannot be seen by him again. She even added 'it's not about race'. I was thinking who said anything about race? It was humiliating. I was crying as I walked out of the reception where the front desk attendants were staring at me and I stepped out of the hospital dumbfounded and shocked. If this is what patient care and compassion is about, I can assure you that Dr. Dotchev and his staff do not have that. How ONE post-assault visit can result in him choosing not to see me is horrible. I would never recommend a physician and staff like this. One would think I had been going to Dr. Dotchev for years and complained about him. I left because he was who the hospital assigned me to for a post-assault examination. Who would have thought this would happen because I didn't stay with him after that one examination? Better hope your insurance doesn't switch and you would have to leave him because he will never take you back. What a horrible and humiliating experience. The hospital will be hearing about him and his staff.
Best experience Great doctor and good friendly staff Just delivered my twins with Dr. Dotchev All good and happy, all 3 of us. No complications on my C/section Will recommend to all my friends GO DR. DOTCHEV!!!!!!
The MOST MISERABLE office staff I have EVER experienced. They are unhelpful, rude, and if you have payment questions will not help you. They also tell you if you use your insurance they charge them MORE than if you were to pay with your card or do self pay option. Basically the bill they send to your insurance company causes you to be charged even more than if you would’ve done the self pay option!!!! Unbelievable and SCAMMING at its finest!!!! The only good thing about this office are the SEMI experienced doctors.. I would rate this place 0 stars if I could.
Dr.Dotchev is very knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely recommend
Our family expresses huge gratitude to Doctor Dotchev for his professionalism and an excellent team working with him !!! I am very glad that I was advised nine months ago and the next child will only give birth to a Doctor Dotchev! Thank you very much for everything!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
