Elmhurst Anesthesiologists's Online Review Report Card

Billing process is mess. They didn’t send the bill, didn’t explained anything about insurance coverage vs copays … and then I had to enrolled on a payment plan but the checks are to be sent to another address. They are making it too complicated

As someone who works as a management consultant in healthcare, it’s always jaw-dropping to have such personal and negative experiences in a system I’m supposed to know better than everyone else. As others have mentioned, never received a bill - I had spine surgery and paid for several subcontracted services from surprise billing out of network blood work to a nurse practitioner which BCBS didn’t provide prior authorization for. In my Edwards-Elmhurst my chart app I’m 100% up to date on payments but even though this provider operates out of the hospital I guess it’s a separate network and legal entity. Such a shame that CreditKarma is the one notifying me that I had a bill due past collections. Beyond this, my wife and I are looking to buy a house and a $150 bill dropped my credit score 30 points. Such a joke. Will be contacting BCBS and the provider as I don’t think this was submitted to insurance (and therefore shouldn’t be my responsibility to pay). How are patients possibly responsible, and even liable for the mis-management by providers/payers/etc?

I’m not sure why people are only reviewing the billing department. I’m going to go ahead and review the doctors. Dr. Kellman was my anesthesiologist and gave quite an excellent epidural, and it was in the middle of the night. I’m going to go out on a limb and bet that the bill will be in my Mychart when the entire bill comes out but for now I’m going to rate my care not my billing. Also she had a very cool snoopy mask.

They billed me for a procedure that they did not even do. Now I am trying to get the bill waived and the billing department is rude and knows nothing. This is terrible customer service.

Very unprofessional I. Regard to their billing departments. They do not process bills correctly nor do they follow the correct procedure to send you to collections. They also are very dishonest. If you can aboid them or care about your credit, stay away! Very unfortunate that a Physicians partner business is so disorganized. I have spent weeks trying to get a company error corrected and each call they seem to get ruder and less helpful. These people all need to be retrained or replaced.

They did not bill me or send my bill to my insurance!!!! I never even knew about it u til my credit score app alerted me! They have runined my credit and still have not taken me OFF of the debt collection despite my insurance company even being on the phone with them! I can’t wait to SUE them for ruining my credit and now my ability to purchase my home do this! Horrible people who can’t do their job or due diligence

Be aware that this is Elmhust Memorial Hospital's anesthesiology dept. My wife suffered through 30 minutes of unbearable, screaming at the top of her lungs pain two weeks ago getting a c section. Dr. Girardot was the anesthesiologist. The spinal epidural was not successful and the drugs administered during the procedure due to the epidural not working also did not work as the blamed the IV falling off. Really? Isn't that your job to make sure all involved is set and ready to go through all phases of a major visceral surgery? Since the surgery I have come to learn that yes Elmhurst Memorial is a great hospital, but it's anesthesia department run by Elmhurst Anesthesia is known by other doctors and medical professionals as one of the worst in Chicagoland. Be aware. You are warned. Also it's been more then 72 hours now and Dr. Girardots "bosses" have still not call me after making a formal request line through the hospitals Pride line where I first made this process official. Pathetic. If you do not care about my wife's pain .. I do not care about your reputation.

The group does not send bills out. They did send a letter stating that payment was over due. I had to call to request a bill. BIZZARE
