She’s helped me heal both physical and emotional issues, including things I never thought could improve. I travel from afar to see her because she’s truly that good. Her presence is calming, and I always leave her center feeling blissful and balanced. I also really appreciate the thoughtful herbs she gives me—they’ve made a big difference. In 2006 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Our family doctor recommended that I see an acupuncturist to help me through the cancer treatment that was looming before me. I contacted her long time practitioner who put me in touch with Lori Howell. I had only had acupuncture treatment once before and, being the nervous sort, wasn’t looking forward to having it again. I was honest with Lori about my fears and she helped teach me how to breath and checked on me frequently during the sessions, including using acupuncture to lessen my anxiety. During the several months of chemotherapy treatments, radiation, three surgeries and subsequent recovery, Lori’s skilled treatment and herbs reduced the side effects and pain. Discussing my tolerance of the treatment with my doctor afterwards, she was amazed that at 48 years old, I still had energy to work full time while going through the treatments. She listens, she analyzes and she recommends plans that are effective. Dr. Howell teaches others to become acupuncturists and it is apparent why she succeeds in teaching as well.
