Call button meant nothing to them..food was brought up after an hour and a half after two calls checking what happened, chicken noodle soup had one noodle, hard boiled eggs were like rubber,Had a nurse I could not understand due to her thick accent..doctor kept saying I could go home for two days, told me at 11;00 am I could go..paperwork not ready until 5 pm..their new medicine was one they tried 3 yrs ago..would go anywhere but this hospital..

I have had the worst experience with this hospital. My father was here for an outpatient procedure that required either myself or a medical transport to take him home. Nobody called to let me know the procedure was going to be 4 hours late. Nobody called me with the security code to talk to him. Later in the evening there were complications and he had to stay the night anyway, however he wasn't technically admitted. Nobody could find him in the system to transfer me to his nurse because he wasn't admitted. The whole situation was negligent. I will never go here and my father will never return to this hospital.

Lab keeps messing blood draws up. Wait times are horrible. Need a referral for many things despite having a PPO. Website says that there is validated parking, but NOBODY is able to actually validate parking. People will straight up tell you there is no validated parking, even though the website says there is.

If you're headed to this ER-- skip it. Go to another hospital. Excessive wait times, clearly short staffed, and poor patient care in general. Went to ER for an injured knee- waited 6 hours- and when brought back to a room- no nurse- no doctor- no NP/PA- nobody. We just sat for 2 hours in a room until eventually a doctor and 3 med students came in- spent 5 mins- and left. Wow wow wow. I guess this is the *new* Evanston NORTHSHORE Hospital- experience. It's a real bummer- this used to be our go-to ER/hospital- not any more.

I am a Nurse. In 2020 I went to the ER for severe back pain. I have had multiple fusions. They did not draw blood for an infection. Tylenol probably covered up my fever.. they missed diagnosed a Thoracic Abscess from T 7 to L3. I am now paraplegic.

Couldn’t be more inefficient

I just wanted to take a minute and thank April in billing for going up and beyond to help us with the processing of our claims. She is FANTASTIC, helpful and kind. I wish Evanston and the Health Care Industry had more employees of her caliber. Can't thank her enough.

I visited the hospital today for blood work and cardiac imaging. The blood work was done in 10 minutes and the cardiac imaging for an EKG<br> was also done in 10 minutes! The whole process was seamless, 28 minutes total, and so quick that the parking was free.

….My mother is a very sick person. Over the past 15 years, we have not heard any diagnoses, and we visited lots of doctors in every imaginable specialty. She was admitted to many hospitals for the last 15 years (Highland Park, Skokie, Glenbrook, Condell and Evanston too) and as many rehabilitation centers …it was never easy. There was almost no hope And our family has always received the support of professionals Doctors ,nurses, physical therapists …and with the joint efforts Mom got home again ... I am an adult reasonable person, I understand that , unfortunately, health does not improve, and age does not decrease ... But when you get to the hospital, you want to live under the slogan: “hope ! And we will do everything to help.” But not under the slogan ): "Abandon hope, everyone who enters here" This is the thought with which Doctor Reddy appeared to me twice , for few minutes. And I didn’t see, I didn’t hear from her for the first three days as the attending doctor, until I raised my voice and insisted! "Thank her very much" for the week when she came twice (at my very insistent request) and both times assured me that Mom is old and sick.( I totally agree that it is better to treat the young and healthy than the old and sick, just as it is much more pleasant to babysit grandchildren than to look after elderly parents.) The rest of the days came (again at my request) her residents and politely nodded to me on all issues I have no doubt that Dr. Reddy is a good specialist But it seems to me that doctors should have empathy for the patients and relatives ( Otherwise it's better to be an pathologist) I have no questions for the insanely busy nurses. For the previous attending physicians on duty, they came, they called, and they asked ... I feel nothing but appreciation But the attitude -let her groan, so that you understand how she suffers which would help you make a decision .... God forbid anyone from such doctors in critical situations...

North Shore saved my life. Great hospital, super attentive staff (at least in cardiovascular wing). Definitely the place to be if something is wrong.
