I love Northwestern, but oof this location...hire people who know what they are doing. Waited almost an hour for a nurses appointment, they kept telling me that I was going to be called soon, come to find out the entire time I was waiting they couldn't "find the order in the system" which was there, and I had no problem going to another location for the appointment! Communicate!!!! If you can't find the order, even after calling a nursing manager, 3 other admin staff members looking in the computer, tell me that so I can make the decision to stay or leave!!!! Definitely won't be going to this location. Disappointing
Long wait times for appointments. Generally unhelpful.
New facility, friendly check-in, all of my was info already on their computer too. No five million questions either. I sit down, and three mins later I am in an exam room with and a super nice nurse and doctor, and in five minutes I am across the street having coffee and a croissant!!! Great job North Western Medicine, I am your new lifelong patient!
I am absolutely astounded at how far this once admirable organization has fallen. Every single non-medical employee with whom I have interacted in the last year has either lied to me, given me incorrect information, or failed to solve my issue. Every single one. Every appointment I have made with them in the last year has been canceled or changed, by them. They value the time of the physicians and staff immensely, while demonstrating zero regard for the time of their patients. I'm embarrassed for them and can't wait to end my relationship with them.
Can't say a bad thing about this place. It's convenient as a location for primary and immediate care. Every time I've been here during the pandemic they've moved efficiently and there haven't been many people in the waiting room which makes me feel safer. Dr. Smith is also very warm and welcoming. I am happy to continue using Northwestern as my preferred hospital and would recommend them.
BEWARE I scheduled an appointment, during which I asked about insurance coverage, and was told I was covered and would only have to pay the copay. A year after the appointment I get a call saying I owe hundreds of dollars because the insurance company didn't cover the services. I have spent months and countless hours trying to get them to reverse the charges as its their fault, which they admit, but they refuse to waive the charges. Please don't make the same mistake I did and end up paying hundreds out of pocket- avoid Northwestern Medicine.
I only made this appointment because my primary physician was out of office on vacation. I was trying to see Eleanor G. Smith for an appointment same day. I wish this was a review for actual services but instead for the lack there of. After arriving to check in at the lower level, which I waited behind three other patients, I was directed upstairs to the other suite. Once I got to the second floor I tried to check in with Karyna. I was informed I was 6 minutes late for my appointment and they would not see me and was told to go downstairs to immediate care. I admit I was a little late for having checked in at the wrong desk but to be shooed away like that was very upsetting. I would have probably waited MUCH MORE than 6 minutes in one of the rooms waiting for the doctor or nurse to even come in but I will never know.
I noticed there wasn't a separate yelp page for the primary care center and figured it deserved its own page because it offers a variety of different services including the option to have a primary care physician see you by appointment amongst a Dermatologist or a Gynecologist. They also have Phlebotomists on site so no need to worry about terrible attempts at blood drawings. Today, I went in for my first appointment with Susan Alt and it was perfect! She's incredibly blunt and thorough as well as having great bedside manner. She ran through my old files with me, clarified some things, shared her thoughts and recommendations. She also was able to pick up on me not wanting a Dermatology referral just yet and was very understanding. (Side note: Susan Alt can also do pap-smears, talk about 2 in 1, pun not intended)! Lost a star for the way my blood was drawn, it felt pretty painless at first but the gauze/cotton was pushed against the needle as it was being pulled out so an artery was nicked because my entire arm was bruised up and in a lot of pain this past week. Definitely will be returning regularly!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
