List of Saint Francis Hospital - Cancer Care Evanston's Reviews
I had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound on June 5, 2025. They called me in the morning that they had an earlier appointment and I gladly took it. I went in a little nervous that I was called back for a diagnostic view but the mammogram technician walking me through my images with expertise, and her kindness, made me at ease. The woman in the ultrasound room was just as nice and we had nice small talk as she was taking images. She seemed very professional with my boobies out and her years of experience made me feel confident in their work. Have not received results yet, but I am confident that they will be done correctly. On another note, when you walk in weary and not knowing where to go, the hospital gives a closed vibe and is not so welcoming. If the help desk staff is there, then it is different story but she is often not sitting up by the desk (as I am a patient and Social Worker with clients visiting often) (when there it is helpful). The lighting and front area is confusing (do I go in East or West?) and seating area not welcoming to sit where it could be a cute use of seating area (reminds me of Northwestern). When visiting a hospital, your mind is out of sorts and scared and easy guidance makes an experience better/nicer unconsciously. I would give my boob check a 10 though. Now this wait for results is stressful...I need chocolate LOL
The staff in the ED is phenomenal!!! I felt safe, and very well cared for! Although it is a hospital and time seems to stop when you're here, they made my admittance a top priority so I could get tests, etc. right away
Amazing staff providing thoughtful, comprehensive competent, compassionate care to a 77 year old with heart problems.
Administration doesn't appropriately staff the units resulting in extremely poor care which is concerning for a level 1 trauma facility. Good luck if you're inpatient there!
I visited one of my relative today dated 07/30/2024 around 7:30 pm, the receptionist at the front desk was so rude to me but treating other visitors ahead of me very nicely , first she stopped me to go forward in the line and was laughing and giggling with other 4 visitors ahead of me and then she said its only 10 minutes left in visiting hours and we can't make it which was a total lie , the visiting hours were till 8pm. I think she was just being a racist just because I was dressing in my own cultural attire so she treated me differently. any way I left my nephew down stairs and finally went to see my cousin. We came back by 7:50 pm and my nephew who was left behind in the waiting area told me that after us she allowed other visitors to visit their love ones after she told us it's only 10 minutes left to visit a patient, these kind of racist workers should be fired immediately Who don't treat all the visitors in the same manner.
I had an ultrasound on June 21st because of the enlarged lymph nodes on my neck and pains in my thyroid gland. The test takes about 10 minutes, the technician said that the results will be back maximum 10 business days.18 days passed and 11 business days no results.I called the hospital no results yet.I called my primary doctor he told maybe the results will come next week.... Small update, I got the results back.If you have to do anything in this hospital , just be ready to wait longer than you expected.Good luck!
Horrible nursing care. Every female nurse is shorter than myself, 5'4. They cannot move patient. They will let lie in your feces for 2 hours, than try to find a male yo assist. Terrible cafeteria. Good mediocre. Open util 6:30 pm. But grill is closed at 2 pm. No signage stating grill close. You are left to eat old hamburgers wrapped in foil. For $6.99. REALLY!!
have been at St Francis a number of times always have goo experiences great and helpful nurses and staff
On 2/11/2020, a D&C with the "supposedly new technology to remove a Polyp. The room was dusty, on the floor there was sal & pepper, the bathroom smelling really bad, the nurses were rude. After a procedure the nurses did not follow the standard of care. The nurses did not let me know that l was hurt and brushed so l was in pain without even knowing that l have open wounds to care for. It seem as if they slammed my body down. I am not sure why the Joint Commission has not done anything about this hospital. Is it because the patients are mostly Medicaid and Medicare?
If only I could have given a minus 10 stars! I really can't understand how this hospital is still in business. It has never been good. My mother was taken to the ER twice & both times were a nightmare. First time was for a TIA stroke & the 2nd for a fall where she broke her nose and was bleeding & in terrible pain. On both occasions the VERY poorly trained nurses yelled at my mother & when she moaned was told to "shut up". Once admitted to a room the nurse on that floor tried to pass medicine on her that was meant for another patient & got nasty when told she had the wrong patient. A doctor & students took advantage of an elderly women in the next bed, performing one unnecessary surgery after the other, on her. The facility is decrepit & needs a complete rehab. An unknown doctor put in a claim to Medicare for a date that my mom hadn't been there. I reported the fraud to medicare. The doctors that cared for my mother must have graduated at the bottom of their class. You're at their mercy if taken by ambulance.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
