Dr. Brand was courteous, professional, and effective. I opted to have the cleft lift surgery (pilonidal disease), which involves removal of diseased tissue and reshaping of surrounding tissue. The wound was closed (not packed), and there was a drain inserted. The procedure was performed under general anesthesia. The cleft lift surgery is a special procedure that reduces the chance of recurrence. While effective in the short-term, a simple cystectomy in general surgery doesn't address some of the root causes of pilonidal disease. Before one of my follow-up appointments, Dr. Brand got pulled for a last minute surgery for another patient, pushing mine behind. That wasn't his fault. One of the nurses stayed with us past hours to assure us he'd show up. She is awesome. As promised, Dr. Brand showed up & took care of us. Three months later, the pain in the rear is gone. Thanks for Dr. Brand & team for everything.

I'm sort of in between on this Dr. He took one look at me (I have some risk factors for surgery), and you could tell he wanted nothing to do with me. After a discussion, I sensed that either he was concerned about liability or concerned about me. After a 2 minute examination which was very painful (Hemorrhoids) said with my situation he would rather not perform surgery on me and gave me a prescription for a rectal pain relieving creme that was rejected by ins.co $257! 2 days later no alternative

He patiently explained everything to me, calmed my nerves, and 2 days out of surgery, I am Incredibly grateful to him. He truly is as fantastic a surgeon as all of my doctors had told me. I would absolutely recommend him!

This doctor is unique. His bedside manner and concern for each and every new patient is awesome. He took the time out to make notes and listen about my problems and concerns. This gentleman is the real deal and what all doctors should be like. I’m so glad I found him and encourage everybody to get a second opinion and see this doctor before proceeding with any surgical plans. Loved him

The Dr. was okay, took his time talking to me. I won't be going back however. I left work early so I could arrive on time. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time. When I arrived, I purposely asked the receptionist if the Dr. was running on time. She assured me he was. About 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment, she told me they would be out for me soon so I stayed. It was a little bit of a drive so I didn't want to have to return if I didnt have to. I waited one and a half hours after my scheduled appointment time before I was called in to wait in the office. When I did get in, I told the nurse I was upset and her response was that he was on time but just got behind. She feigned an apology but clearly didn't care. Total wait time to see this Dr. was nearly 2 hours. Sat with the doctor about 20 minutes. With my drive time I spent 3 hours to talk to the doctor for 20 minutes. It's a shame he doesn't feel as though my time is just as important as his. I will not be returning.

Dr. Brand is a fantastic surgeon, highly skilled with a caring bedside manner. Surgery could not have gone any smoother! I was a complicated case, took everything into consideration, made wise decisions . I am grateful for his skill and care.
