I have been seeing Renee for 2 years and I truly can’t express how much she’s changed my life for the better. When I turned 25, I woke up one day with a beard of acne. Never having struggled with it in my teen years, I was truly at a loss on what to do. After spending TONS of money on products I would hope would work, a coworker recommended Skin Theory to me and I booked immediately. It was just by chance that I got in with Renee. Right off the bat, I knew she was my girl. She listened to every single one of my concerns, got me on a routine with my appointments and my at home care, explained the what/why behind everything she was doing/applying. Being in the beauty industry myself, this made me trust and respect her right away as she was very knowledgeable and she really knew her stuff! I had a goal to be clear in 5 months as I was standing up in my best friends wedding. She replied with “I’ll only need 3” and boy was she spot on. 3 months later, I was completely clear and could confidently stand at my best friends side on her big day. 2 years later, I am still seeing her on a regular basis because without her my confidence was at the lowest of lows and let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good facial?? Now Renee is getting me ready for MY wedding day!! All I can say is DO IT! Take the leap in investing in yourself. Renee is the sweetest, most kind, genuine person and I will forever be thankful for her.

I originally started coming to skin theory probably a couple years ago and was having a really bad time with my skin. I was very vulnerable and very insecure and I didn’t even wanna leave my house. . my skin was definitely challenging and I was also going through some health issues and at the time I was told by someone there that maybe I should come back when I’m done with my health issues, but then the owner did reach out to me and was very kind and was sweet and really wanted to help me and I just think that with what was happening with my skin their products just couldn’t help and there’s nothing wrong with that. It happens so I did go elsewhere, but I just felt like I was a burden to them in the beginning and I didn’t like that feeling. I know I was frustrated and I know they were frustrated and I just wish that they were a little bit more compassionate not every case is going to be easy and sometimes we’re gonna come across challenges and we need to be professional and caring and kind at all times.. I go to a place now where they have taken on every challenge and my skin is absolutely amazing now. They never made me feel as if my skin or what I was going through was a problem. My daughter also started coming there and was seeing Rachel and has great things to say about Rachel. She was amazing. She helped clear my daughter’s face up. Just like any teenager she decided it was more convenient so she came to the place I went to and just got just simple things for sensitive skin and recently just started having breakouts again so we thought well let’s go back to skin theory because they really helped you and I think that it would be good for you to go back and be consistent with that so we did go back and we saw Renee. Today my daughter felt very unwelcomed. She felt she was unprofessional she was very snippy and just made her feel like she did not want our business. She made a comment about if these products aren’t working for you then maybe you should go back to the other place. It was like she kept bringing up that she had went to another place. I don’t feel it’s appropriate for a grown woman who is a professional adult to be talking to a teenage girl who is in high school in that tone. I tried to call and I’ve left a voicemail and I’ve not heard back yet. Everyone has their own experience and this was ours. It makes me sad because I’ve never talked badly about this place and in fact I’ve told others to go there. It just feels like if they see something or someone that isn’t easy they want to wipe their hands of it. We will be taking our business elsewhere after this last experience unfortunately because after seeing her treated this way after my experience in my opinion is not okay.

Flash forward a few months later, and my skin is better than ever, and I feel confident and beautiful. I am so grateful for her and her team for making me feel like myself again!

Skin Theory is FABULOUS at what they do! They are a leader in skincare and very professional. The environment is welcoming and I always feel safe in their hands and with their expertise on the latest skincare products. My daughter has been through their acne program also and Karen completely changed her life - her skin is glowing now, and it has restored her confidence and reignited her social life. We’re so grateful to them!

I have been going to skin theory for YEARS! I moved away for school but I moved back to illinois last year (with slightly angry skin) and had my wedding in September. Rachael was the absolute BEST throughout the whole wedding skin prep process. Everyone there was so supportive and excited and even went as far to put together a little “day of” skin prep bag for me. My skin felt the best it ever has on my wedding day thanks to these ladies:). I will never go anywhere else. They’re the best.

This place is truly amazing, I’ve been going to Karen for years! ( in person and over the phone ). Let me tell you, she has been the ONLY person to ever cure my acne. Not only are they so amazing at what they do, they’re extremely kind and welcoming. If you’re having any doubts about coming here don’t hesitate, you will feel heard and be treated with extremely kind, professional women. After trying several creams and medicines to be ineffective for my 16 year old daughter, we found skin theory. It has helped my daughter learn how to properly care for her skin and worked to clear up her acne. They are so informative and treat each patient as an individual.
