Dr Lady Dy Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Dy has been a God send. I have had alopecia for 28 yrs and have seen many Dr.'s in that time. Dr. Dy has blown them away in both knowledge and professionalism. She always takes her time to answer all my questions and concerns and has gone above and beyond in battling with the insurance companies to get me the medicine I need. For the first time in 25 yrs or so I finally have my hair and beard and It just goes to show that I never even realized how much the loss of it truly affected me until I felt the freedom when I got it back. I would highly recommend her for any of her services as I'm sure you would have the same experience!

I wish I could select zero stars. I was misdiagnosed and treated like a cash cow.

Experience with Dr. Dy was one of the most unprofessional I have ever encountered. I came to Dr. Dy with concerns of hair loss, an area she claims to specialize in. Upon our first appointment Dr. Dy didn't even look at my scalp and immediately suggested an expensive and invasive scalp biopsy. I agreed as I was under the impression she was an expert and I was desperate to understand what was going on with my health. When my results came back Dr. Dy informed me I may have lupus and then promptly walked out of the room to take a phone call. It was the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced in my life. I was incredibly concerned and clearly distraught and she just walked out of the room for at least 5 minutes. When she returned all she told me was to get blood work done and answered absolutely zero questions about what a diagnosis of lupus would mean for my life. Cut to- I got blood work done and do not have lupus, I went to see another hair loss specialist who was completely flabbergasted as to why Dr. Dy would even suggest a scalp biopsy for me. When I submitted all medical paper work to get the slides of my biopsy submitted to the new doctor, the office did not send them. I can not warn against this office enough. Do not go here, you are treated like a cash cow.

Dr. Dy is THE BEST!!! I waited to see her bc I thought she would be too expensive & I wish I hadn’t! Every visit so far has been covered by insurance! I was worried it would be considered “cosmetic” and get denied, but it didn’t!! I’ve only had small copays thus far! My hair is so much thicker & more voluminous! I used to cry about my hair thinning! I tried any remedy I read about online. Nothing worked until I met Dr. Dy!! Just taking one prescribed medication & vitamins, my hair has tripled in density! I am so happy & I wish I had done this sooner! You don’t have to accept hair loss! I tell everyone! The sooner you get started the better your outcome will be! Call her NOW for an appointment ASAP!

I have an experience to share. I was DR Dy's patient for several years. I suffer from hair loss due to lupus. I moved away two years ago, but I have seen her twice a year when I have returned to town because there is not a dermatologist in my area that specializes in hair loss. I made an appointment two months in advance and was in town last week. I rented a car and got a flat tire on my way to the appointment., as a consequence, I was 15 minutes late. She refused to see me any time that day or the next day before I left town. I needed to be treated for my hair loss condition, but also for a skin cancer on my breast and forehead. We have always had a very cordial relationship. She is more a business woman than a doctor. She greatly exaggerates the time spent with me on the medical forms for the insurance companies. I believe she doesn't want to treat me because I am only in town twice a year, and not a source of regular revenue. Shame on her!

I saw Dr. Dy for a hair loss issue because she was highly rated in her field. Dr. Dy never once used a microscope on my scalp and immediately ordered an expensive scalp biopsy. When she relayed the results of the biopsy to me she indicated I most likely had lupus and would need blood work. She then left the room to take a phone call and when I asked her what having lupus meant for me she gave me no answer and just told me to get blood work. I had to hound down her staff to get the results of my blood work, and when it came back negative for lupus she provided no different diagnosis or advice for treatment. I had a terrible experience and would not recommend her to anyone.

My appointment was very comfortable and personal. Her office staff is very professional. I will be back!

I took a day off of work to go to my dermatology appointment. I never got a confirmation call, so I called to make sure they had my appointment, and sure enough, they didn’t. I kept my appointment card so I had proof. They were able to squeeze me in, but then Josie called me back to notify me that I needed another referral. No one told me this. I had a referral for my original appointment, but not for my follow up as I typically don’t need additional referrals for follow ups. Josie was abhorrently rude on the phone. She was not apologetic at all for THEIR mistake, first not scheduling my appointment but giving me an appointment card and then not giving me instructions for follow up. She said “well it’s you’re responsibility to figure it out”. Really? I’m in healthcare and when my patient needs a follow up appointment, I tell them everything they need to do. I will never set foot in this place again. I used to refer many people here. No more.

Dr. Dy is the best! I went to see her to have some small keratosis taken off my face. I also had a full body skin check. Dr. Dy was so thorough that she was able to detect what turned out to be a rare breast cancer caught in the early stages. She is a dermatologic pathologist also. Her staff is also top notch and followed up on getting my pathology blocks where they needed to be in order to have surgery. I can't speak more highly of them!
