List of James P. Monahan's Reviews
I've been going to Dr. Monahan for over forty years. He's a great listener. He saved my mother's life and instantly identified a rare, serious condition in my wife. He's awesome.
In my 50+years (and having been a nurse 30 years), I encountered number of providers. And I can confidently say Dr. Monahan is a treasure. Both my husband and I’m very lucky to be under his care. He is not only professional, knowledgeable and through, he very approachable, empathetic, thoughtful and caring. Today was my first visit yet I was at ease and felt he truly cares about my well being. His staff was also outstanding. Shannon at front desk was extremely efficient and friendly. She went above and beyond to consolidate my future appointments. Dr. Monahan’s nurse Elvira (sorry if misspelled), too was pleasant, very efficient and professional: she never failed to explain before the procedure and made sure all my clinical needs for the visit was met. My only regret is... not finding Dr Monahan and his staff sooner.
Dr. Monahan listens attentively and takes a genuine interest in the health of his patients.
1 star is far too many...
I have been seeing Dr. Monahan since 1999. I believe he has saved my life numerous times. So if I have to wait it's worth it.
I've been seeing Dr. Monahan for almost 20 years. He's great at listening and has a wonderful bedside manner. He has no problem prescribing tests or medication based on my history and current issues. Whenever he makes a tentative diagnosis, it's always right! He has a low turnover in staff which tells me it's a good place to be.
After waiting an hour without being seen, my boyfriend walked out to the front and said he was leaving. Not one person apologized for the wait. The lady at the front desks exact words were "yea, it's still going to be a while. You can reschedule ". He nor I will ever come back to that place. No organization, zero communication. It's a joke. If my appt is at 1:45 and I'm still there at 3 without even being seen, there's a huge issue. At least let the patient know what's going on. Your wall states you practice A.I.D.E.T, but there was not one ounce of that in outer visit today. Very very disappointed.
Dr. Monahan is both friendly and knowledgeable with great bedside manner. He listens better than any other physician I've worked with and puts data together to identify a problem or refer to a specialist when needed. I once presented with sarcoidosis, a disease that is notoriously difficult to diagnose. Most sarcoid sufferers don't get any answers until they've gone through several visits, often to more than one doctor. Monahan was able to sort it out in the first visit. He spent 2 hours with me in his office that day, which shows his focus and care. I've never worried about his being late since: I know that it's someone else's turn and he's busy giving them the time they need.
I have been going to dr Monahan since 2000 and by far he is the best physician I have ever been too, he's always on top of my medical history and if ever a problem or issued ever comes up he's on top of it he and his staff are the best
Dr. Monahan always knows who I am and my history. I don't know if he brushes up on my file before I go in but I doubt he has the time. I've been seeing him for years and I wouldn't change. He has a very low turnover in staff which assures me it's a good place to be.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
