List of Nozaina Aftab's Reviews
Met in hospital very pleasant took her time in the visit. She had an idea what was my issue before other doctors.
Dr Aftab is the absolute worst medical professional I have ever seen. I am confirmed to have chronic Lyme disease. She knows nothing about the disease. She stated she doesn't believe in chronic Lyme disease. She ignored dangerously high blood pressure taken by her nurse. She never followed up with me after she ordered blood tests trying to blame my symptoms on something else. STAY AWAY...complete disregard for patients health and well-being!
Dr Nozaina Aftab did nothing to help cure me. She ignored dangerously high blood pressure taken at her office. She has absolutley zero knowledge of chronic Lyme disease. I am horrified with her lack of care.
I highly recommend her! She apologized for running late and keeping me waiting. She is a great doctor, a rare doctor that listens and is concerned how treatments are going to effect you and your family. She doesn’t just rush in and out of your appointment, she genuinely wants to know how the treatment is working for you.
She may be ok with cases that are not complicated. My experience with this doc is that if a condition presents itself as different than the textbook symptoms, she doesn't know what to do. I found her bedside manner rude and abrasive, argumentative . Also her educational background indicates that she had not been educated in the United States, which may affect her perception of various conditions. Office staff were very kind however.
I went in to be seen for a condition which I have previously had , and was again recently diagnosed with in the ER.. She did not believe me, told me it's not possible for that illness to present itself that way. I told her I have the same symptoms as before , and I need a different treatment as the regular meds didn't work. Refused to consider any other treatments for me, did not do the lab work that I requested. Told me there is no treatment for me. Made me feel upset and not listened to . A waste of time .
Absolutely terrible. I went to receive a travel vaccinations consultation before going to Peru and Bolivia to visit Machu Picchu. Dr. Aftab did not mention or prescribe me altitude sickness pills for Machu Picchu. Much to my shock, EVERYONE I traveled with had received these prescriptions and brought the pills for their trip. And of course, I got altitude sickness upon landing in Cusco. Upon returning, I realized her office coded my visit as "consultative - non-medical" which caused my insurance to not cover it (my BCBS insurance covers 100% of medical-related travel consultations, which this clearly was) and charged me $250 for the service. I called the office to request that the office code the visit correctly as a medical consultation, for which Dr. Aftab's nurse YELLED at me over the phone that I received all of the care that was listed and that she could not help me. After indicating I did not even receive a proper consultation when she did not mention altitude sickness pills, they "graciously" decreased my fee by $60 but insisted that I am required to pay the rest. I will NOT be returning here and will opt for a much friendlier and thorough travel clinic for my next international trip - such as Northwestern or University of Chicago's clinics.

My doctor insisted that I see an infectious disease specialist within 24 hours, and he was able to get the appointment with Dr. Aftab. I found her to be professional, courteous, and able to handle the infection in my leg appropriately.
Staff other than front desk are hard to work with.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
