Randy Epstein Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr Epstein comes very highly recommended to my by two ophthalmologists I have seen over the years. Today I scheduled with great anticipation a consult. The gal, MJ, did the appt (she said she was located in Highland Park). IF she is representative of the tone, professionalism & quality of this office, Dr Epstein has lost a potential patient with need for two surgeries. She was rude, talked over me, responded inappropriately to a request I made that she spell the street name I gave her for my address back to me. She said she didn’t need to. I explained it often gets misspelled & I would like it correct from the beginning. She spelled it out quickly talking over me again & then snips at me that she did spell it. She rushed thru taking my info & then explained to me at the end that Dr Epstein ran two to three hours behind & as I said thank you & goodbye - she obviously thought I had hung up as she says “oh my God”. I called back & asked to talk to her as I did not know what had happened that would necessitate that phrase at the end of the call from her. I was put on hold for several minutes & then someone came on & said MJ had stepped away. It was all lacking professionalism.

Dr.Epstein is a very caring & approachable person.

To: Doctor Epstein, you asked me to blink and you thought that I did not understand you, so you decided to talk to me in Spanish. Well it's not that I don't understand English, it's just that you were speaking soft and I couldn't hear you through the mask. Also as we were walking out of the exam room, now in a loud voice you say VAMONOS!!!!!!!!!(LET'S GO). Doctor, I think you have me mistaken for Dora the Explorer. But anyhow, what really did it for me was that every time I asked you something about the issue with my eye you did not have an answer. You said that you couldn't help me with that or that you did not know and to see my regular physician. I felt like you did not care, that you were not paying attention, like you were in a rush to get to your next patient.

Horrific. Waited 3 hrs for him to spend 3 minutes with me. don't go. Waiting room full of people during a pandemic.

Dr. Epstein in fantastic. I suffer from Keratoconus and was referred from my optometrist to go to Dr. Epstein. Dr. Epstein performed my CrossLinking procedure in 2013. My right eye was real bad. Without a contact, I was at 20/400 and wearing a contact was painful, due to my advanced out-of-shaped cornea. Back in June of this year (2020), Dr. Epstein performed my cornea transplant. I was fitted with a contact lens for my right eye with my optometrist and for the 1st time ever, I can see 20/20!! My optometrist and other other doctors who I had follows up ALL complimented on Dr. Epstein's work on the transplant and the stitches! I can't thank this man enough!

Dr. Epstein performed Lasik on both my husband's eyes and mine. My prescription was -6. My husband's was -9 and -12 (different eyes) with astigmatism - not an easy case. We had our surgeries over 20 years ago. Even today, we could not be happier! Dr. Epstein was professional and obviously quite skilled. I looked him up today to see if he was still doing surgeries because our adult daughter's vision is even worse than ours.

Dr Epstein always overbooked patients so that they wait too long so he can never wait for a patient Even now with the Covid pandemic the waiting room I packed and he tell patients to wait in their car The greediest Dr I have encountered

Had cataract surgery and was told I would still need 2.50 reading glasses. Now I wear 1.5 but I also need driving distance glasses. He would do nothing to correct wrong lens in my eye.
