List of Robert J. Mack's Reviews
We have gone to Dr. Mack for years. He saved my husband's eye after a horrific accident. We highly recommend him.
Dr. Mack is a wonderful, caring, Doctor. I had cataracts in both eyes. He corrected both and saved my vision.
staff was great everything went really well
Dr. Mack wanted to do an iridotomy on my teenage daughter suspecting glaucoma and scared the daylights out of her. He also requested a very expensive MRI with contrast, her first time with an IV. The test was unnecessary, the diagnosis incorrect, and the second opinion specialist we sought out was so aggravated with his incompetence that she quite appropriately bawled him out in a letter for his alarmist attitude. Furthermore, he sent my elderly father-in-law to an ER many miles away (during the pandemic) telling him that something was "very wrong" with him. The ER released him. What does that tell you? With more than 30 1-star reviews here, why would you even consider seeing this so-called doctor?
Don’t waste your money, very inconventant. Just want your money
Very bad experience. Never prepared for surgery . Made to go through many hoops for many months and cancels surgery 1 week before . Reschedules it and cancels again 4 days before. So much arranging and rearranging., Not a man of his word.
Christina the receptionists is welcoming and friendly. Such a way with people. Kris was patient and non rushing. Emilina was patient and explained everything the doctor ordered in a pleasant manner. The doctor could not have been nicer to me. Thank you for being kind to me. de
My husband made me change doctors because he felt that he was very arrogant. Also I would have to wait 2 hours to see him each time I went. New doctor I have for 2 years is fine and I don't wait so long each time I go. Mack overbooks patients.
Appointment was on time, no long sitting abandoned in waiting room. Friendly front desk. All ppl including assistants and technicians I had contact with were professional, explaining what tests are performed etc. Dr Mak nailed down the origin of my problem explained with images on screen, performed immediately a small procedure (that many others would require another appointment to milk insurance companies) to get me relief. Told me what not to do to escalate symptoms. To my big surprise I was even provided with a page and a half report of his findings, tasks performed, medicine and instructions.
This was my first visit to this doctor and my biannual check for ocular hypertension. Dr Mack told me that I had narrow angles in both of my eyes and that I needed vision preserving operation called Iridotomy. He stated that if I didn’t have this done I would go blind. The operation did not lower the pressure. I went for the operation for the second eye and got into an argument with the tech who was about to prepare me for a wrong operation. I finally convinced her to look at my previous operation and she finally stated that they had scheduled me for a wrong procedure. Luckily the operation could not be done that day and I sought a second opinion from a Glaucoma specialist who stated that although I had narrow angles the operation was not necessary. I got a thorough exam and was told that I don’t have Glaucoma. The specialist told me that the procedure did not lower the pressure likely because it was not necessary. I’m questioning Dr Mack’s motivation to scare people to have this done.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
