My story with this doctor is long, I'll keep it short. My partner was having a stoke, saw the doctor during the stoke, the doctor wrote a prescription for a c-scan to complete within 30 days and sent us home. Ended up taking my partner to the emergency room and in 3 weeks they recovered enough to go home and start PT/OT. Ended up with a 60K hospital bill. To add insult to injury. Horan's bill was about $1000+ dollars, I didn't pay on time so what does she do, sues me and files papers with Will county to appear in court. Had to pay her pit bull lawyer the $1000+ to end this nightmare. (Side Note:) There was about 30 people that were in court for Horan. This is a general practice of hers.If you care about your health and your family's health, really do you research before you make that appointment!

Never received portal for my test results

Rude, arrogant, condescending and displays absolutely no empathy towards her patients. She may be a competent physician but she needs to return back to med school for a refresher course 101 reviewing appropriate bedside manner, focusing on how to listen to her patients without rudely raising her voice and disreguarding everything they have to say. She prefers to take an authoritative, condescending, non therapeutic approach instead of listening to her patients, treating them with kindness, compassion, respect and empathy. She was totally disrespectful, raising her voice to me, then storming out of the room like a child throwing a tantrum with a bad attitude. She proceeded to discharge me without even asking the medical assistant to apply a dressing to an open wound on my leg that was currently draining and being treated for an infection. I sat there for 10 minutes and had to actually walk out of the room to request a dressing be reapplied to my leg after I was already discharged...Dr Horan, don't forget where you came from! Your behavior was pretty disgraceful and appalling. You set a horrible example for the poor med student that was shadowing you reguarding treating patients respectfully and completing plan of care. There are plenty of excellent qualified physicians out there that actually like their jobs and take pride in caring for patients so I wouldnt waste my time or money on her....I have never encountered such a rude physician in my entire 37 yrs of working in a hospital side by side with physicians every day as a health care professional. If you are that burned out, perhaps you should consider changing professions. I was scheduled with Dr Horan after my regular physician was booked for appointments. Now, I know why she was available....never again will I see her and would highly NOT recommend

She was rude, disrespectful, condescending, raised her voice to me and didnt care what I had to say. She stormed out of the room with an attitude and didn't take the time to ask her medical assistant to reapply a dressing to an open wound on my leg that was being treated for an infection. I had to walk out of ths room after she discharged me to request someone to apply a dressing to an open leg wound. It was an embarrassment she actually had a young innocent medical student shadowing her setting such a very poor example. From one health care professional to another....if your that burned out and forgot where you came from, can't treat patients respectfully without being condescending and raising your voice to them perhaps you should change your career and do something else. There are plenty of great competent family practioners out there with an excellent bedside manner that actually take pride and enjoy caring for patients so don't waste your time with Dr. Horan.

I was in a car accident and was rear ended. She told she had rear-ended someone and the person who hit me didn't do it on purpose.. I had to come back a few times because I was in so much pain. She prescribed pain medication that I should not of taken with other meds she prescribed for another issue. Needless to say when I brought this up to her she was rude and seem offended that I would even question her. Did not go back to her. And I had found out from friends she was rude to them also.

I've been with Dr. Horan for a few years. I trust her and know she will listen to my concerns at each visit. I had an issue with my family history of breast cancer and she referred me to another physician for my next steps- I really appreciate how thorough she was for this issue, referring me to ensure I received the best treatment. I also truly appreciated her honesty with this situation. Even for my annuals, I feel Dr. Horan is thorough, friendly, honest, and knowledgable. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Horan.

Offered an appointment same day for annual exam as someone had cancelled. I informed receptionist I would tentatively take the appointment as I had to check with work to see if I could leave early. She said to call right back & if she didn't answer, to leave a voicemail. I called, left a voicemail stating that I could NOT make the appointment. Later in the day received a call that I would be charged a SAME DAY CANCEL FEE and that my voicemail was never received. Incompetent front desk staff, I was done a true injustice. After explaining what had happened, I was informed that I will still be receiving a fee per Dr. Horan. After going to Dr. Horan for the past 11 years of my life, I am leaving the practice. I work in medicine and am well versed in cancellation procedures. I was done a TRUE INJUSTICE and hope no one else wastes their time with this office. Do your self a favor, go elsewhere.

I have been going to Dr. Horan for about 10-12 years and have not met a better doctor. I was told 30 years ago by a doctor, all doctors were not "A" students and you need to always ask questions. Well for the first few visits or so I do that with every doctor. Dr. Horan explains everything until you get it, and NEVER has been condescending in any way. I am an old broad and have been seen by many doctors for many reasons and she is one of the smart ones. Common scene and practical, up on the latest medical information and yet still is old school. I do not think you can beat that in a doctor. I would and have recommend her to many and a matter of fact she is all 3 of my sisters doctor too.

I went in for a number of health issues. Rather than having a thoughtful discussion, she just seemed really combative.
