List of Don Griffin's Reviews
Very disappointed in my experiences with this practice. Never see the doctor even if complications develop from aesthetic services. Only the see the aesthetician even though I've inquired about several procedures. I find it offensive that a doctor sells upfront discounts, at a high cost, in order to reduce costs to rates charged by other offices. If you don't use the "credits" by spending thousands in a year, you lose the upfront money paid. Just a scheme to encourage more procedures. Griffin has an off-putting attitude. I've never been comfortable in his presence. I'm. It surprised at the negative reviews. If a doc emphasizes profit over relationships and doesn't make patients feel important, no trust is built and when an outcome is unsatisfactory, the doc gets the blame.
Dr. Griffin may be the best kept secret in Nashville...I had such a great experience with him for facial/skin care concerns, that now I plan to schedule an arm lift after massive weight loss. His staff is amazing and the office feels more like a spa atmosphere than a clinical environment. He also personally calls/texts to check on his patients, which I found to be beyond caring and considerate. I'd send any friend or family member to Nashville Cosmetic Surgery.
I went for breast augmentation and now have the worst scars ever! Even a surgery junior resident would have done a better job with suturing. Very poor attention to details. Post-op, I found more incisions in me than what he explained prior to surgery. Overall, he's nice, little cocky but I would never recommend his service for any of my friends due to lack of skills.
I had a neck lift(hated that excess neck skin and the jowels!!)and found the entire experience just great. I am so pleased with the outcomes. The pre-op appts were easy to schedule and I never waited more than 5 minutes. I was nervous prior to the surgery but was amazed how very little pain there was - although Dr. Griffin had given me a prescription for some pain medicine, I never took it and in fact, only took 2 Tylenol. The post op care has been just as good as the pre-op care. The entire staff are kind, smart and caring. Not sure I could have asked for anything else. The results are amazing....people have told me "you look so good - did you do something to your hair", etc. I would highly recommend Dr. Griffin for any cosmetic work.
Dr.Donald Griffin was great he CHANGED my life for the best....The staff was friendly. He's GREAT
I did not have a good experience with this doctor. Overall, poor communication both prior to and subsequent to the surgery (although I didn't realize how inadequate it was until it was too late). Results were so disappointing to me, scars are poorly positioned and very surgical/unnatural looking. The surgical skill and attention to detail was much less than I was expecting for such an uncomplicated case. Post op, there seemed to be no recognition or acknowledgement of the subpar results and I felt my concerns were being brushed under the carpet and minimized versus helpful advice and realistic counsel through the obviously poor results. I really should have done more research, fact checking, interviews of prior patients before selecting this surgeon as we were not on the same page relating to my expectations and what his capabilities of delivering were. Unfortunately, no second chances and this is a decision I have regretted daily for the last year.
I had a face lift , including eye (upper and lower) bleph by Dr. Griffin. I began having problems with my eyes within weeks of the surgery. I returned for my follow-up appoints and complained of my eyes not fully closing. He claimed they did close - and would not acknowledge any problems. I am continuing to address this issue - and may be facing corrective surgery in the near future. Dr. Griffin offered no guidance , merely brushing off the matter as if he did not know what to do or say. Mistakes happen - but he would rather let the patient suffer through it alone than acknowledge something may be wrong. Save yourself much heartache and expense - go elsewhere.
I wish I could say I ever even saw the doctor but I didn't. I saw his delusional esthetician twice. She pretended to be a doctor and promised my skin would be clear when she finished with me. She said she made her own products and made me return 4 days later to pick up products clearly made by cosmetic companies, not HER. Then I called her after her facial only made me worse, and SHE prescribed me Spironalactone, a diuretic, for my acne?? I never saw a doctor. This medicine interfered with other medicine I was taking, but how would she know that? She never asked me what I took. Then I called the office 3-4 times over a spam of a week to discuss this medication and noone called me back. I finally called the doctor after hours and he was clueless that I had gotten this med! That is really scary. StY away from Karee hays and be Leary of Dr. Griffin since he obviously doesn't oversee this staff member. I finally went somewhere else and was cleared up in 2 weeks.
He is the most caring doctor I have ever been to, he went above and beyond for me.
Dr. Griffin lied to me that I was going to be having a procedure that he'd done many times before (NOT!!! I was one of the first), and promised that I was a great candidate for outstanding results. When things went horribly wrong, he either didn't know or misled me about a complication he said was temporary. He also dragged out the time frame for fixing the problem unitl shortly after the Tennessee statute of limitations for malpractice lawsuits expired, then dumped me. He didn't even have the courtesy to tell me himself he was doing so, or why, directly to me. He caused incredible emotional damage. Many of his patients love him, with his glib, overconfident, promise-the-moon style. But if the results are less than expected, he blames you or just denies that you are seeing what you're seeing. That's pathological narcissism in action.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
