List of Hair Transplant Seattle's Reviews
Bad experience overall. I went in to consult about correcting my hairline asymmetry and wasn't taken seriously. The doctor was very vague and said he wouldn't do it, then proceeded to brag about his previous work, which was a waste of time. Before I walked out the door he said he would be willing to do an FUT, which was extremely confusing considering he already told me I wasn't a candidate.
As a female physician, I couldn't be happier with the Dr Goertz and his team. Their entire approach was very professional and the outcome marvelous! Dr G not only corrected my thinning hair, but also repaired my confidence and self-esteem. I have absolutely no qualms about recommending him to other people!
Please, do your research, the practice is misleading. They did not go over risks of the surgery. I was pressured to continue even though I had questions and reservations. I was told that I would not experience shock loss and that migraine post op would not happen. They want to make money. Even on the review boards, Dr Goertz ignores and dismisses all concerns and risks regarding surgery. Save your money, pain and agony and please do not get an FUT procedure. They guilt tripped me into believing my thinning hair would cause me more anxiety. They feed on people insecurities. I will be following up with the office again and the better business bureau. In addition to the state medical board.
I don't typically write online reviews, but in this case I feel compelled to do so. The work of Dr. Goertz has completely changed my life for the better. Call it vanity, but the amount of stress I experienced when I realized aggressive MPB was in my future was crippling. I was barely 30, and working hard to excel in my personal and professional capacities. The loss of my hair was completely outside of my control, and filled me with anxiety every time I looked into a mirror. As those who suffer from this condition know, it rapidly drains your vitality, self-confidence, and optimism for whatever comes next.I spent a good deal of time browsing the internet for solutions, only to end up confused and disappointed. Many accounts of a transplant procedure are negative, and specialists in the industry can seem like charlatans. The last thing I wanted was to end up looking worse than I was destined to, with a freakish scar, a "pluggy" doll-head, or a procedure that didn't take at all. If you're reading this, I'm sure you've read plenty of horror stories about Propecia (Finastride) and what it has allegedly done to men's overall wellness. Needless to say, I was skeptical of taking any action and begrudgingly began to resign myself to a life of shaving my head. Before I threw in the towel, I took a chance and scheduled a consultation with Dr. Goertz. I don't remember precisely why I chose his office first, but I remember being impressed with some of the content on his website, namely a section entitled "Avoiding a bad hair transplant". This was unique to the sites I visited, which seemed to focus on flash, grandiose promises, and new gadgetry/robots. The website seemed to promote realistic expectations of what was possible and focused entirely on the QUALITY of a procedure. It felt authentic, professional, and not at all like "Used Car" style advertising I had seen elsewhere. I was equally impressed with Dr. Goertz's commitment to holistic healing from the inside. Although nervous, my first consultation went well. The office is relatively plain, and far from flashy or high-tech. Don't let this skew your expectations. Much like "hole-in-the-wall restaurants", the end-product is often far better than it's surroundings portray. Dr. Goertz's assistant, Sonia, is extremely pleasant and professional. Dr. Goertz wrote me a prescription for Finastride, which I held onto for about a week. I expressed my fears about the drug, which he calmly provided supporting evidence to assuage. Dr. Goertz laid out a plan of action for an FUT procedure and asked for my inputs on his design. I remember feeling greedy and naively asking for a 15 year old's hairline, straight across my forehead. (Afterall, I want my money's worth if i'm going to do this!) I also feared the FUT itself, instead attempting to lean towards the supposedly "scarless" FUE route. What followed was the most reassuring thing Dr. Goertz could do to prove his authenticity and commitment to natural and realistic results...he more/less told me he wouldn't be willing to do such a thing. Dr. Goertz prides himself as an artist and was only willing to do what would realistically improve my appearance. We settled on a hairline that followed my natural pattern and included "insurance" for the possibility of future loss should my hair not stabilize on medication. Admittedly, I was somewhat frustrated. Maybe a small part of me wanted to hear grandiose promises of "one-procedure and you'll have hair like Clooney". But I went ahead with scheduling the procedure anyways. It was my last ditch effort to thwart genetics. This would turn out to be a fantastic decision. I followed Dr. Goertz's supplement and diet recommendations, took the Finastride, and had my first of two procedures several months later. The procedures were simple, comfortable, and well executed. I had nearly 7500 FUT grafts completed between two procedures and the results are staggering. I may be an exceptional candidate, but two full years later, I feel like I have more hair than I did in high school! I never imagined this kind of result, as I felt Dr. Goertz under promised and over delivered. My scar has healed beautifully and is now undetectable at a #2 guard. I absolutely wouldn't trust FUT work to anyone else. It's not a surprise that a large portion of his practice is fixing other people's poor previous procedures. If you're a candidate for this type of procedure, please do yourself a favor and see Dr. Goertz. Don't fall for flashy ads, expensive tech, and big promises. Nothing can replace the hands and expertise of a skilled surgeon who has devoted his life to perfecting a particular procedure. Dr. Goertz is a warm soul who genuinely cares about the well-being of his patients and how losing their hair affects their emotional state. I feel so grateful that I picked his practice first and shudder to think what might have been otherwise.
During our session he wasted some time disparaging my doctor friend and made some inappropriate comments about her during our time together. Do understand what you are going in for. A hair transplant consultation is free but if he sees that you are not a good candidate then the conversation will be more of a medical consultation. I was not expecting this but that is what happened. That medical consultation was $175 and it was mainly Dr. G going through the list of vitamins and medication I should take and the foods/products I should avoid. It was a lot of information to take in but it was helpful. The vibe in the office between him and his assistant were not the best and at certain times I felt that Dr. G was being disingenuous. I am sure he does okay transplant work as he is very focused in this niche procedure but I don't know.
Disgusting office, know it all doc that bad mouths his competition, horrible pictures of hairlines he was proud of, least experience out of all the docs I met with and doesn't even do the FUE procedure and lied to me trying to tell me I wasn't a good candidate for it. What a joke and complete waste of my time. Would have given 0 stars if I could.
This is my review of my HTS procedure. I haven't seen the results yet so I can't speak to them but I'm expecting pure awesomeness! When I went in for my consultation I could tell right away that HTS and Dr. Goertz were different. I'd been to Bosley and another doctor back in Texas and they treated the whole process like an assembly line. They wanted to get me out of there as fast as possible and get on to the next person. I didn't like that at all. Dr. Goertz spent a long time with me, describing the procedure and what he does different than most other doctors. He also took the time to answer all my questions. After I booked, several new questions came up, and Sonia answered them all. She's also just a super nice person :) On the day of the procedure, I was pretty nervous. But, from the start, Dr. Goertz and everyone there made sure that I was comfortable. There was a lot of humor and laughter which really lightened the mood and relaxed me. You can tell they all like working with each other. After the injections in the donor area, Dr. Goertz started working and immediately there were complications. I started feeling very nauseous and dizzy. I started sweating, and fainted completely dead out. Everyone there knew exactly what to do. They revived me and put me into a position to calm down. When I started feeling better, they went back to work and, it all happened again. Again, they let me relax until I was ready. They never pressured me to start again until I was ready. But... it happened again :) After the third time, they were able to improvise and allow me to stay in a position that made me comfortable while they did their work. I don't think most places would have done that. The lunch they provided was delicious! My surgery was done on Friday and on Saturday afternoon Dr. Goertz called me to see if I was ok. I appreciated that. I can't say enough good things. They do great work and they're great people. I would recommend them to anyone! UPDATE: About a year later and the results are more than I could have hoped for. The before and after pictures are pretty unbelievable. More than that I've come to recognize that Dr.Goertz truly cares about his patients. He's spent as much time talking to me about not hair related issues I'm having as he as on his work. A+ all the way, for the whole staff.
I highly recommend Dr. Brian Goertz for anyone that is considering any hair transplant procedure. Dr. Brian Goertz is clearly knowledgeable about the treatment of hair loss and you will feel comfortable knowing that he knows what he is doing if you decide to select him to perform your hair transplant procedure. He will discuss the various options you may select if you don't go with him, however he will encourage you to trust him to perform the surgery since he takes a personal interest in you believing you made the right choice. I suffered a head injury that required surgery as a teen and begun to experience hair loss in my mid 20's and become self-conscious due the the apparent hair loss that was becoming more visible with each passing month. Dr. Brian Goertz was recommended to me by my dermatologist who specialized in hair loss if I decided I wanted to pursue surgery as a viable option. I scheduled the free consultation with Dr. Goertz to explore this option and knew after immediately that I wanted to proceed with the hair transplant to fix my hair loss. I just left my one year post-op checkup and the pictures showed two completely different people. The physical difference is just the beginning since you will feel better about yourself and your emotional health will also improve. His staff was some of the best people I've ever interacted with during my extensive experience with several different medical staffs. This was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life and will never regret it for the rest of my life.
A plastic surgeon did a number on my skull, he maimed me. After years and years and wearing a head band I made an effort to cover the depressing scar and sunken skull, I had a deeply depressed, I sought help from my Neurosurgeon and Neurologist to in order to seek help from a hair transplant surgeon. Luckily after a lengthy persistent process I found Dr. Goertz and consulted with him, turns out he could he do it. He gave me Hair Transplant I was impressed with him from time I met him, he's professional, highly skilled, and draws like an artist.
I had a hair transplant from Dr Goertz 18 months ago. I couldn't be happier with my experience and my results. I was initially skeptical of the entire process. I didn't know if it would work and I didn't know if it would last. As a result, I interviewed several hair transplant surgeons in the Seattle area. Dr Goertz was my clear first choice, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. At the initial consultation, Dr Goertz was the most personable, the most informative, and the most confident of the doctors I spoke to. He pointed out that a hair transplant is not only a technical procedure (of which his experience makes him extremely competent), but there is also a large degree of "artistry" involved. It is an art to reconstruct someone's hairline, placing the hairs in a way that appears both natural and attractive. Again, 18 moths later, i couldn't be happier about my decision to use Dr Goertz for my hair transplant!
