Joe Robin's Online Review Report Card

I was a patient of Dr. Robins for many years. His treatment of my migraines did not seem to improve the frequency or severity of the attacks. I would frequently have headaches that lasted greater than six weeks, and yet I worked a full time as an OR Nurse and did not use narcotics as they caused drowsiness. I moved to a Seattle home, and stopped seeing Dr. Robins. In 2004, (approximate date) I was severely injured when a driver rear-ended my car. I sustained torsion injuries of my back, knees, shoulders and neck. My deltoid muscle on the right upper arm was nearly detached from the bone which required surgical repair. I had ligament tears in both shoulders which required surgical repair. My neck and back sprains required many sessions of physical therapy and yet I was left with a left leg radiculopathy (sciatica like pain) that prevented sleep and caused intractable pain for ten years. I finally found temporary relief from the nagging, gnawing, pinching pain with bi-annual nerve injections. As a note, despite the level 6-8 pain scale pain I had, I continued to live as work without accomodation and without use of any narcotic pain medications because of their sedative affect. I sued the driver who hit me, and his insurance company required that I undergo a physical exam by one of their consulting physician. Imagine my surprise when I arrived for the exam and the physician was Dr. Robins! Since he was hired by the defendant’s insurance company, he was obviously representing their interests. Although he knew me, knew I tolerated a great deal of pain without the use of narcotics, he nevertheless painted a picture in his summary of someone who did not have a very serious neurology problem. I could hardly walk into the appointment, dragged my left foot when walking, was in exceptional pain, and had difficulty even turning on the exam table due to the pain, Dr. Robins painted the picture of someone who did not have significant neurological injuries! I feel that Dr. Robins should have not done the exam, since I was a known previous patient of his, and therefore his observations were not completely objective. His prior knowledge of me and his knowledge that I was not a user of narcotics for pain, should have given him a better picture of the patient who he was there to evaluate (knowing I did not drug seek or embellish my pain for any secondary gain). I also feel that his report findings were completely skewed by his employment by the defendant’s insurance company. I feel that his role as an objective evaluator was completely compromised and that he should have not done the biased evaluation of me that he did. Di Townsan

Bad communicator.

My patient care and treatment by Dr Joseph Robin MD. was excellent. When my internal medicine Physician from Confluence Medical Center Wenatchee wanted me to return to Dr. Robin for consultation, I was pleased. I know that Dr Robin will give his full attention and extensive experience for his consultation.
