Craig Kestenberg's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Kestenburg was seeing my son a few years ago. He insisted on reducing a certain medication and we previously had a very bad reaction to that medicine being reduced. I told him that it was a really bad idea. He was extremely arrogant. He basically told me that I was being a bad mom. He reduced the medicine anyway. My son got extremely aggressive just like I warned Dr. K. He tried to harm a teacher. My son was expelled. Then my son tried to hurt his best friend so I called an ambulance. My son was taken to Hartgrove where they did brain mapping. The results showed that the medication needed to be INCREASED just like I said! I tried to talk to Dr K about it and he was even more arrogant. No apology.Now years later I'm trying to get my son into a new program and staff remembered the incident and my son was denied entrance to a program that could have really helped him. Years later we're still feeling the pain of Dr. K's arrogance. Doctors need to listen to mom's we know our children!

Our daughter Jocelyn has been seeing Dr. Craig Kestenberg for over four years now. Jocelyn is now 18 years old and because of Dr. Kestenberg’s expertise in treating psychiatric disorders in children Jocelyn has improved tremendously. Her school behavior and educational learnings have also greatly improved as has her behavior at home. I would highly recommend him because of his ability to interact with his patients successfully and his great knowledge of psychopharmacology. I would rate him 5 out of 5.

Dr. K has been a blessing to me.Over the last few years he’s treated me, he’s seen my through incredible ups and downs, while treating the last 10 years of trauma/anxiety/ PTSD/ issues for me.It’s been a long road, and I surely haven’t been the model patient every time, but he inspires me with honest conversations, to the point that it’s made me see how I handle things, especially impulsive behavior, and how and why medication choices are made.Those honest conversations improved our Dr./ patient relationship even more. Honest conversations with Dr.’s can be scary and often don’t happen. For me, I’m so lucky it did. It kept me off a path I didn’t want to go.The best part for me is that I’ve heard from my family and friends the change in me and mental state, my emotions are controlled, and I’m not the person I was a few years ago. I am able to get up every morning, not go into the dark places I used to for weeks at a time, affecting my relationships and my job. I am thrilled to tell him the progress and I know that will continue as treatment goes on.He is patient and kind, even when I’ve not been easy and open. He helps me take a look at myself, from the bad place I was in to where I am now. Sometimes, that is not easy to see, but as a Dr., he excels at that.If you are willing to put in the work, no matter how long, how hard, know he will put in the same effort. His patients are his priority.My journey isn’t over, but I have a great Dr. to help me along the way.

Dr. Kestenberg has changed my life for the better. If you are looking for a provider that cares about his clients and puts their well-being at the top of the priority list, he is your guy. If you are at a point in your life where you truly want to start the process of digging down deep to the root of the issues you may face to finally climb out of whatever hole you are in, then go to Dr. Kestenberg. Class Act.

Dr. Kestenberg is a wonderful clinician and listener. From the first visit we had, his kindness and extensive expertise stood out. He was honest, a good listener, and made an effort to include me in the development of a treatment plan. After a thorough intake, he quickly helped me find an effective regimen and checked in with me regularly to make sure things were working out. I feel like I am on a team managing my health care rather than just seeing some nameless doctor every few weeks to get prescriptions.He is easy to reach through the patient portal or his office and meets with patients at a time that works with their schedule. As someone who has an ever changing schedule and cannot necessarily carve out chunks of a weekday to see a doctor, it is immeasurably helpful. I genuinely look forward to my visits to talk about life and how treatment is going.

Ive been seeing Dr. Kestenberg for ~6 months and he's been a godsend. Great listener, approaches problems aggressively to reach treatment goals, and has a kind disposition that shines through. I was initially not very excited to be seeing a psychiatrist but Dr. K removed that fear and stigma of addressing mental health problems with a doctor.

Dr. Kestenberg has been seeing my daughter Jocelyn who is now 17 for the last three years. We adopted her when she was three years old and has been seeing psychiatrists since she was three. Dr. Kestemberg is her fifth psychiatrist and is absolutely the best child psychiatrist I have ever seen. My background is in social work LCSW so you’re hearing this from a professional whose specialty was therapy and children

Kestenberg is a non compliance Dr. He is not an easy person to deal with. I would never recommend him to another. Not if my life depended on it. Step lightly with him, he doesn't understand people it's his way or nothing. Ewwwwwsoooooogwaud, never. Lack of knowledge completely. He is arragagent to say the least. These doctors hand out medicine they know nothing about.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kestenberg for almost a year. He has a very calming and friendly disposition that always makes me feel at ease. I feel he listens and puts much thought into a treatment plan and has been a detrimental piece in the puzzle to finding solid ground in which to build my mental health and wellness outlook. I would highly recommend him.

I have had a better year, since I have been seeing Dr Kestenberg. The atmosphere in the office is comfortable, there is ease in scheduling and availability after work hours. I always feel he is pleasant,100% present, knows how to listen and is never burned out. I agree with his insights and thought provoking style of questions and/ or conversation. Our appointments include medication management thus I have had good success in my work life balance. My general disposition on a daily basis has improved and I leave feeling well supported and encouraged. His expertise care and level of trust is what ultimately keeps me going back. Of note, for these reasons might I suggest you consider this Psychiatrist if you are not getting any better or are not feeling good about your current treatment plan and or medications.
