It was terrible - she did not listen - just told me what she would or would not do - I am looking for a new PCP
I am a minority which I'm sure affects my biology. Anytime I see Galanes for a problem and test ANYWHERE in normal ranges, she gives up and tells me that depression is the only explanation. Anytime I see another doctor and test normally, they look further and find the problem. My life has been miserable since I chose her as my PCP.
Dr. Galanes is amazing! She listens to my concerns and acts on them immediately. I love that she recommends natural remedies before pharmaceuticals. She is the best primary care provider I have ever had.
I have no doubt that Dr. Galanes meets well with other patients of a younger age. My experience with her for my mom was not favorable. When challenged , I got a message that we should be referred rather than deal with the challenge at hand. If you have an elderly parent or relative I don't believe this is her specialty and she appears to not like to be questioned. One must always advocate for their loved ones but not this hard.
amazing and competant
Dr. Galanes is an excellent internist and diagnostician. Although I have a different primary care doctor, I have seen her 2 or 3 times over the past couple of years, and she has been spot on with her assessments and diagnosis of my medical issues. She takes the time to listen to my concerns during our visits, and, in one case, assured me that my fear of a recurrence of pneumonia was unfounded. Highly recommend.
Very thorough; went out of her way to be sure I was comfortable. When it was clear my appointment was going to be rushed due to event outside her control, she offered me opportunity to continue or reschedule: she was clear she did not want my care to be compromised by a shorter initial visit. At second appointment she listened carefully, asked the right questions, picked up on my preferences quickly. Definitely recommend.
I just spent time with Dr. Galanes checking on my 84 year old mother as her primary care physician after she had a hip replacement 3 weeks ago and was feeling light headed periodically. Dr. Galanes gave her a thorough check up and was very knowledgeable taking to the time to explain what she was doing, the results of the blood work, the probable reasons for the episodes, and her overall progress in recovery. She took the time and displayed a warm, friendly, level of care for her patient rarely seen anymore. I am very thankful to have her looking after our mother.
I had never been seen in this office before and the only medical records on file were reports from an ER visit and an urgent care visit (more than a week before). Galanes was reviewing those records as she came in the room. She immediately told me all the tests were fine and the only thing wrong with me was that I was overweight. Nevermind the page long list of symptoms in my hand that I had been experiencing for previous month that prompted me to become a patient at this office in the first place. She had her mind made up about me before she even set eyes on me. Never did get through my new patient visit......she told me to come back in two weeks when I was less worked up over everything. I made an official complaint which is being reviewed by the physician manager.
My experience, she is not very professional and I don't feel really cared.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
