Martin R Fetzer Do's Online Review Report Card

I have had chronic back pain my entire life due to severe scoliosis at birth, I have seen more doctors than I can count. Martin did not seem to care or account for past treatment history, he seems to only want you to do what he recommends for you. He was accusatory from the moment I sat down, leading to odd changes in visit frequency, drug testing, and frequent changes in dosage of my medicines I had been taking previously. This ultimately led to a very stressful routine, uncertainty, and no confidence that I would receive the necessary treatment when I was at my lowest. Will take note of personal beliefs. Overall I felt unsupported, and unheard.

I saw this doctor yesterday for the first time. He and his staff were very nice to me. He spent plenty of time with me as a new patient. He seemed considerate and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend him to someone who needed this type of service. Plus his office building had very pretty views out the window which made it even more pleasant...and he had aquariums in the waiting room which were soothing.

I saw Dr Fetzer for approximately two years. He was rude, condescending, dismissive, and yelled at me on several occasions. His injections did not help at all and he prescribed high doses of opioids for me to take over the entire time I was his patient. During one of my injection sessions which was supposed to be under twilight sedation, he screamed at me and yelled “do not tell me what to do —ever!” Even though I was under anesthesia I remember the injections being horribly painful and him saying that I was causing the pain and for me to be quiet. When I was recovering from anesthesia he came into the room where I was recovering and yelled at me to “keep quiet and not complain during the injections anymore.” He said “you’re much too old to be acting like a baby.” I’m 66 years old. After that, I fired him and went to my primary care physician. It took my primary care doctor two years to medically withdraw me from the high doses of opioids.

Been a patient for a while. Bedside manner is more shy than rude in my opinion but overall solid doctor.

I found Dr Fetzer lacking in empathy, a poor listener, and careless with details. He kept me waiting 30 minutes. When I expressed annoyance about that and explained that having to stand or sit that long worsened my chronic pain, he said I should be more cordial. When I asked politely for a small cup of water he ignored me and kept talking. His visit notes contained two mistakes about my condition and symptoms which we had just discussed in the visit! I will seek a different pain management doctor.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I have been, or had been, what I thought was a long-term patient of Doctor Fetzers and developed a trusted relationship. Turns out he is disgustingly cold, treats you with no compassion and really is only interested in "helping" you via invasive injections. He is not a pain management doctor. He pretends to care about your pain only to give incredibly painful and medically questionable injections all under the guise of "interventional pain management" which is nothing more than an insurance scam. Do not see this Dr, he will fail you when you need him. If your PCP pushes you to see him, push back or beg to find another doctor. Do not make the same mistake I made.

Don't expect anything more than a doctor that wants to do nothing but give you injections. I've been, well now, have been, a patient of his for years and he can't be bothered during emergencies. Please if anyone sees this find another doctor that will actually care for you when you need it. I wasted a lot of years thinking Fetzer was a good doctor only to find out he goes running for the hills when you need him most. I repeat, he is uncompassionate, clearly doesn't seem to consider a patients history and will do as little as possible for you outside of repetitive injections. AGAIN, PLEASE FIND A DIFFERENT DOCTOR THAT ACTUALLY CARES FOR YOUR PAIN WHEN YOU NEED HIM. FETZER IS NOT THIS PERSON AND WILL ABANDON YOU WHEN YOU ARE NO LONGER HIS PIN CUSHION. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE IM GOING THROUGH NOW.

We did not have a discussion about my treatment. He seemed to have little interest in what I had to say, and proved that his disrespect for my input and experience by giving orders for the same treatment I had recently tried and found ineffective, and recommending I reduce the most helpful med I have ever used. He ordered X-rays, but when I was confused about where, when, and how to get them, I got no help from the staff, and ended up leaving in tears.
